The California Republican Primary Election will be held June 7, 2016. They have 53 CDs X 3 delegates (162) plus 10 statewide delegates. The California Republican Party has passed rules in the peoples' interest for the 2016 election.-->

The peoples' voice/vote will be directly and correctly represented by their delegates. What an amazing and ethical concept! Republican voters should press their own individual state parties to adopt fair and ethical rules. Condolences to Cruz supporters / GOP Establishment: No Super-delegates to snatch in Cali.

As for California values? No one has a legitimate right to stereotype and condemn the entire state and trash Californians like they have New Yorkers. Plenty of great Conservative people live in both NY & Cali. Millions are multi-generational Californians & Yanks have chosen to stand their ground rather than exit. Conservatives are not to blame for the invasion and contamination of Cali. by outsiders. California's 172 delegates will finally play a significant role in the upcoming election; God-willing, they get it Right!

So it is actually 169 CD, 3 party, & 10 at large delegates.

“In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the California’s Republican Party, will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position.

Remember when CA always took a “favorite son” candidate to the Party Conventions? Their delegation was never pledged to anyone else who was running — just the favorite son on the first ballot. Things got interesting on the 2nd ballot.

I remember CA nominating Earl Warren and Pat Brown. I don’t know when that practice died out, but that was how they did it in my youth.
