To: Bruce Campbells Chin
I really hate "hide the ball" articles where you don't know what the subject is until you get a few paragraphs in. Not a good approach in an era when people are flooded with information as it is. So, I never did find out what his complaint was.

I despise this writing technique too. No one wants to tell anything straight anymore. Even basic news articles are written in such a convoluted way that it is difficult to piece together the point. Whatever happened to a thesis sentence up front? No wonder that attention spans are short.

Journalism schools aren’t teaching the difference between news and editorial opinion anymore, so it’s no surprise the inverted pyramid has been tossed, too.
Everybody gets a participation diploma. Telling a student there are established standards, and that he’s doing it wrong, would be a hate crime.
