When they do that survey about the most charitable states taking into account income/outgo, they also note that leftist “charity” tends to go towards life-enhancing things for upper-crust leftists, such as museums, the arts, etc. Nothing wrong with that, but it shouldn’t be equated with real charity, that is, help for the needy, which comes more largely from the poorer, more conservative states.

And I hope these leftist cities never have the audacity to consider shipping their homeless off onto rural, small town, or other such places. I say that because just in the last day I read on a blog someone suggesting as a solution to the criminal ghetto element in Chicago, moving them out to suburban or small town areas. Why should these places be the recipients of problems they didn’t create and can’t solve, just because the city elites don’t like their pretty cities dirtied up, and won’t carry guns themselves to deal with the criminals, and won’t allow the middle and working class citizens to do so?

Chicago did that when they closed cabrini green in the late 80, early 90’s. May hav improved Chicago was night mare for the suburbs
