Too late, Trump Proves Beatable

Congratulations, #NeverTrumpers – Tuesday night you became the dog that caught the car.

What are you going to do with it now? Because it's still skidding toward a cliff.

Sen. Ted Cruz's Wisconsin whipping of GOP front-runner Donald Trump has brought into focus the new convention-al wisdom: It's going to be contested, baby! Trump can't reach a majority of delegates, according to the new Beltway buzz, and because Cruz has a target-the-delegates strategy while Trump has a bluster-about-myself strategy, the tactical Texan is going to win.

"It's still possible for Trump to exceed the 1,237 majority needed to win on the first ballot, but the odds have been lessened because of tonight," Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia's Miller Center said on Fox News.

The full force and influence of the RNC/GOP-e was arrayed behind Ted Cruz in Wisconsin and he still couldn’t break 50% of the vote.

Trump is only important to take Hillary out of the race. Whether he becomes the Republican nominee or not he can do that handily.

Ooh, Cruz won Wisconsin. Awesome.

Too bad that Wisconsin will go to bernie in november, so the point is moot.

I don’t think it’s too late. Although it’s almost too late. Any mistake or misfortune by Cruz will put Trump over the top.

The magic number is 1,237 !

If Trump can't get there, it's on to the convention.

Live with it!

Though given his temperament, should Trump become president, God help any dictator that irritates him.

After New York that number goes down to about 57%.

After the New England Primaries on the 26th, it will sink to less than 50%, projections holding.

So I do believe he can do it.

We are seeing a massive propaganda effort by the GOPe, the MSM, and sadly even Ted Cruz’s campaign.

That will pulverize after the 19th, when Ted is numerically eliminated.

Thanks for the nice response.

You live with it.

Voter nullification is your only path to the nomination.

The GOPe and Ted Cruz thank you for your devotion to Conservatism.

Even all the talking heads now admitting Ted's in the establishment lane.

Cruz woos GOP establishment

Other articles in different paper the same.

Cruz cozies up to D.C. establishment

And “conservative” media. They know who butters their bread. I’ll buy Cruzers a clue: it isn’t us.

Back in Iowa, just before the Cruz win there, I remember reading that Trump's people had warned him that he didn't have any presence with religious people. I thought that if they really were smart wouldn't they have thought about that before Iowa? Well, he then went on to Liberty University and attempted to prove his solidarity with the religious people by mangling a pretty easy Bible chapter head, following that up with the communion gaff.

We are led to believe that he has the best people, all the policy positions up to snuff and has everything he needs to just walk into the White House.

However, he is proving himself otherwise.

That 81% is wrong.

I don’t know who they think they are kidding.

It’s 95% at this moment.

There is a solid number of delegates still on the table.

Ted has a solid number of delegates now.

Take Ted’s number and subtract it from 1237. That gives you a number you divide by 1237.

95%.

You’re missing at least a word there, but assuming you mean that Cruz will have more delegates and/or will somehow come out of a contested convention as the nominee, then what? Read the column we’re ostensibly posting on here. Cruz never endured the front-runner “crucible” of the primaries. The MSM is going to be chock full of stories on what a completely unlikable jerk everyone who’s ever met him thinks he is—among other choice and unflattering deep focus stories. And of course the people whom Trump attracted in the primaries are not exactly going to come out in droves to vote for “Lyin’ Ted.” Eight years of Hillary after eight years of Obama. How ya like them apples?

Trump will be eliminated from 1237 by the end of May. Will he drop out then?

It is going to be a contested convention. There are too many delegates amongst too many candidates.

I am sure Donald Trump, Master Negotiator, Wrote the book on it don’t you know, will have no problem winning a contested convention.

The Republican Party cannot survive without him.

And if he does not get to 1237, it’s all Bush’s fault, I mean Cruz’s fault.

Your propaganda isn’t flying.

You look like a shrill defender of voter nullification to me.

Once again the GOP proves to be the party of wanting to lose. Cruz will lose, Trump has a chance at least to win in a general.
