Cruz cozies up to D.C. establishment
Politico ^ | 4/6/2016 | Katie Gluiek

He's disparaged his own Republican leader as a liar and dismissed fellow senators as part of the "Washington cartel." But now, with his presidential prospects hanging in the balance, Ted Cruz is moving closer than ever to the D.C. establishment. Directly and through surrogates, the Texas senator is aggressively reaching out to his Senate colleagues as he prepares for the possibility of a convention floor fight against Donald Trump. And Cruz’s emissaries on Capitol Hill are now signaling to senior Republicans that Cruz would be willing to work with them as the GOP nominee in a way Trump would not.

Money quote:

“When this is over, we need to be together on a set of issues we agree on,” Gramm said, characterizing the message he relayed to McConnell and others in Senate leadership. “The good news is, while people may have had conflicts with Ted, our basic leadership totally agrees with him on the issues. It’s a huge difference with Trump, but basically we’re all together.”

"Anti-Establishment" Cruz and the GOPe "totally agree on the basic issues" according to Cruz surrogate Gramm. How principled and conservative of Cruz.

If there is a Brokered Convention and G.O.P pisses away it's momentum with Shenanigans, than they are going to Lose in November, even if Cruz is the Nominee.

Whoever it is going to be needs to win outright. Too Much Bad Blood would have been brewed in our own ranks for the Repub Nominee to win. (We control our own destiny, 2016 is ours to lose)

And The GOPe and Bosses are perfectly fine with a loss.

Why? Because what difference would it make? Hillary is Pres? oh no....They still have their Buffets, Their Crackers and Cheese and they get to go to Nine Rivers Country Club every Sunday, so shut up base.

The thing is, Trump would be equally fine with losing, he will go back to making $, living his glamorous life; and he was fine with Hillary before, he will be fine with her as president.

The establishment is not conservative and neither is Cruz

the Cronyism is what is destroying this country

notice how the “conservatives” hand Obama everything he wants just as long as they get subsidies for their donors?

And they claim to own my vote? They can screw off

Yet the Canuckers seem to be brain dead and refuse the factual reality that Lyin’ Ted has always been the Establishment & Heidi’s NoBorders/NAU candidate.

If Trump did this (as he has in the past), it’d be called “good business sense.”

I know it’s hard for Tbots to think without their messiah telling them first.

History is a guide to the future. Cruz’s past indicates he will be a principled conservative when he is in the White House. All indications are he is using the establishment and it’s resources to get to where he wants. Far to long the establishment has used the grassroots, it’s about time we have used them.

The establishment came to Cruz.

Not the other way around.

Well, maybe not always, but he certainly is now. Once you've made that deal with the devil (i.e., the GOPe), you're in it for good.

Ashley Cruz substitutes his CuboCanadian allegiance,
unending cheating, reported whoring, salient backstabbing,
endless bearing of false witness as he is protect
by other womens’ panties behind which he hides,
and all in the light of his vote for ObamaTRADE and Obama,
in place of honesty, integrity, and steadfastness.

Trump's rules only allow Trump to win. 'Heads I win tails you lose'

Months ago Trump criticized Cruz for being hated by the GOPe in the Senate, said he Trump would work with them and Dems if elected, unlike Cruz.

Now that his GOP buddies are supporting Cruz against him, its all different for Ted than it was for Trump.

It means that Cruz is corrupt. It was a good thing for Trump, but bad for Cruz...Trump's rule,.

‘GOPe for me but not for thee’ is Trump's rule on this.

I'm confused. Donald Trump, and supporters, first said about Ted Cruz ....

"You can't walk into the Senate, and scream, and call people liars, and not be able to cajole and get along with people. He'll never get anything done. And that's the problem with Ted."

And now, even though Donald is the one who first "wanted to get along and 'conjole' with Mitch McConnell", he's now accusing Cruz of exactly what he plans himself. Pure Alinsky.

Wasn’t that a criticism of Cruz early on from Trump and his supporters? That he couldn’t work with anybody to get things done? And now it’s a criticism because he is doing just that? Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. LOL

Well, the good thing about the Party leadership in this case, is that they never found a principle that they weren't willing to compromise.

To them, Ted is like a new Democrat, and since they think they can "compromise" their way into keeping power, they are okay with it.

Remember, they ended up doing exactly the same thing with Reagan.

It's already been established that "lose with Cruz" is what establishment 'pubs are okay with. Folks need to wake up. Wisconsin is the breeding grounds of the likes of Ryan, Preibus, and Walker. A plurality voted for one of their own.

Just keeping it real. The Trump campaign has to keep reminding people of the long list of Cruz supporters, PACs, and campaign employees. And it needs to somehow get Cruz to talk about the issues, and the records of those who support him.
