Priebus: 'The party is choosing a nominee'
The Washington Examiner ^ | 4/5/2016 | Ryan Lovelace

Posted on 04/05/2016 11:43:42 AM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus cautioned supporters of Donald Trump who vocally disapprove of the GOP's delegate allocation and selection process.

"By the way, this is a nomination for the Republican Party," Priebus told 620 WTMJ in Wisconsin. "If you don't like the party, then sit down. The party is choosing a nominee."

Priebus said he does not think Trump will run as a third-party candidate, and added that he expects all remaining Republican candidates to support the party's nominee.

Asked by radio host Charlie Sykes whether the nominating rules would change from those set at the previous convention, Priebus sounded disgruntled.

"Well that was the last convention," Priebus replied. "The rules that people are talking about were the rules adopted by the Romney delegates in 2012. So I find it amazing that people would like to adopt the Romney rules to apply to the convention, which will largely be made up of Cruz and Trump delegates. Now, I don't think major changes are going to take place, but I don't get to write the rules."

Priebus insisted that, "I'm not in favor of changing the rules," but seemed to suggest that his party was moving toward the way it formerly chose a nominee many years ago. He also appeared to hint that the primaries and caucuses may not be as binding for the delegates as some have come to expect.

I have a candidate who is currently winning Wisconsin, got all the votes cast so far in Colorado and is tied in California.

What have you got? A pathetic whining loser.

Delegates do choose the nominee by their votes. But delegates are expected to represent the will of the voters that participated in the GOP process.

Maybe you need to review this with the Cruz supporters who think that it is “smart” for the Cruz campaign to maliciously place Cruz operatives in the position of Trump's pledged delegates.

You certainly have the “unity” attitude down, in droves.

How big is your candidate’s delegate lead?

(Oh - and I call out nastiness on both sides, but lately I have seen a heck of a lot more on your candidate’s side)

Conservative money is unwanted.

Au contraire! They want the money! They just want middle-America conservatives (real conservatives) to sit in the back of the bus. The elites get to run things, not the people.

Rinse P@@@ got the gig thru Scott Walker and Paul Ryan .
Rinsey went to high school with one of them.

These WI Gope snakes are the worst,

They are probably stuffing the primary ballot boxes in Ryans and Walker State offices.

Ron Paul tried the same thing in 2012 that Cruz is working on now. Paul’s supporters rigged delegates so that he could get on the ballot using the then version of Rule 40B.

So the Romney camp had Rule 40B changed to keep Paul off the ballot. Now Romney’s minions are trying to change it back to ensure all get on the ballot so that they can choose whoever the hell they want.

Romney is the head of this snake.

What I tell Cruz people is this: the Party of Reagan would never work to deny a candidate a chance to seat their own delegates that they indeed won in a primary contest.

With respect to the Party of Romney, they will deny Donald Trump’s campaign the courtesy and proper manner to have Trump choose his own delegates to seat at the Convention, and they will lie, cheat and steal their way to a coup.

Trump can surely win, no matter what way is chosen as the pathway to success... And classifying any run as a third party nominee as treasonous is utter BS. Get real.

Any successful run will spell a final end to the former Grand Old Party... which is no longer wanted or needed, like buggy whips of old. Adapt or perish.

Pathetic that anyone who will not participate in the corruption is considered treasonous by anyone here. It is useless hyperbole.

The goal this election is not about electing Trump or Cruz or anyone else, it is about the activity required to peacefully TAKE DOWN permanently the corrupted two faced “uni-party” that has been calling the shots for decades. One way or another.
The jig is up.
The PARTY is over.
Heads will roll.

Admittedly, I don’t completely understand all this delegate business, but it looks like the only thing the people vote for, is delegates, then, the elites take over the delegates - by hook, or crook - and “install” who THEY want for president.

Am I close?

You only forgot one thing: Keep sending them money. They like your money.

Which do you think is more tone deaf, Priebus, Romney, or Jeb?

I said it is treasonous because Trump knows, or should know, that siphoning off Republican votes in a third party run will hand the country to Hillary.

Ross Perot handed the country to Clinton with his little self-aggrandizing run.

You people don’t seem to realize who the real enemy is.

It’s not Cruz and it’s not the GOPe. It’s Hillary and the dems.
