True conservatives KNOW that DONALD is an establishment type.

“Trump has long praised Mitch McConnell, the man who is the embodiment of why people are fed up with the party and attracted to Trump in the first place. While conservatives were fighting to get rid of McConnell in the 2014 primaries, Trump said, “It would be a shame if he didn’t win, because he has such power, it’s so good for his state.”

It comes as no surprise, then, that late last year Trump criticized Cruz for acting like a “maniac” when he called McConnell a liar. How does Trump plan to fight political correctness and the culture of the D.C. establishment when he has championed the mastermind of the GOP establishment and is offended by the non-politically correct criticism of its leader?”

The only reason the GOPe isn’t supporting Trump is because they know he’s a loose cannon.

If Trump is a loose cannon he is not establishment. You really don't know what establishment means. Establishment means following a pre set way of doing things and thinking the same way on things. Cruz is a life time govt employee - you can't get more establishment than that.

The dislike of Cruz from his GOP colleagues comes from the fact Cruz is a douchenozzle and not from some sense that he is ultra super duper conservative.

People can and do change their minds when they learn new information. I would much rather that, than someone who forms an opinion and sticks to it no matter what. The ability to constantly reassess does not make a person a "loose cannon."

1) That is exactly the sort of thing a businessman would say. You can certainly disagree with Trump, but my guess is that he had his businessman's hat on when he made the comment.

2) Got to keep up. People now are as mad at the National Review conservative establishment as they are at McConnell & Co. R
