The superficial way so many Trumpateers analyze politics in general IS embarrassing and shows a fundamental ignorance of the process.
What's even more embarrassing is they truly believe that Trump will dramatically change it. An almost incomprehensible naivete.
Most of these establishment types detest Cruz, but they endorse him because at least he has a chance to beat Hillary. Trump on the other hand would lose in a landslide and take the Senate down (and possibly even the House) with him.
It amusing watching Trumpsters attack Cruz for endorsements after mimicking the Trump argument for so long that Cruz has no friends and no one gets along with him.
Also, if Cruz really had a sex scandal sitting out there, he wouldn’t be getting so many endorsements, so you Trumpsters can go ahead and scratch that bit of nonsense of your wish list.
Face it, very few serious people who understand general election math want Trump at the top of the ticket because they know he would be a horrendously bad general election candidate. You can’t alienate everyone but maybe white males and expect to win in November, and Trump has so far managed to do exactly that. His 70%+ disapproval with women alone should be a clear warning sign that Trump simply has no path to a general election victory.

The same man whom Trump lovers habitually describe as one who could not get along with his fellow senators and could not accomplish anything is the same Senator Trump lovers accuse of "saying and doing anything to get elected." It is remarkable how such a smart Ivy League lawyer would be so stupid in real life about actually saying and doing anything to get elected.
Meanwhile Trump, son of a millionaire, social climber, the consummate insider whose telephone call before he ran for office would be taken by the President of the United States, the same man who admits to bribing politicians, is touted as an independent man of the people.

Funny - in one breath, you will condemn Cruz because the establishment is uniting behind him, and in the next breath you will whine and complain because they are not uniting behind Trump!
