Gossip and bearing false witness is one of those sins, like witchcraft, homosexuality, bestiality, where the sinner has to make a conscious decision to disobey what they know to be right and devote their lives to the sin in direct defiance of God- Most sins are simple acts of falling- but those mentioned by God as abominations are called such a strong word precisely because it takes such a cold callous heart and willful disobedience that the person has sold their soul to it in complete devotion to it- it’s the last thing on their mind at night, and the first thing on their mind in morning- it consumes their every waking moment practically-
