Well then why doesn’t he just announce it out loud if it’s something you all are proud of?
Seeing that you all keep using the same dry reply every time this is brought up shoes that you aren’t even all that hot about this, but don’t want to be seen being critical of Ted in public.
Trump has thumbed his nose at the Party and the process the whole time.
Delegate selection is part of the process.
More to the point, the Party chooses the nominee. What I mean by that is there’s more to the process than voting. Delegates don’t materialize out of thin air. In most instances, being a delegate is a reward for long hours of hard work at the local, county, and state level. It’s a position of honor within the party system to be a delegate to the national convention.
It’s the ultimate party insider gig.
Trump’s people aren’t putting in the volunteer hours -for the party- that lead to being a precinct delegate that lead to being a county delegate that lead to being a state delegate that lead to being a national delegate.
Since Trump’s not doing it, I for one am damn proud that Cruz is.
Y’all talk about “stealing” the convention. The convention is the delegates. The Party has a huge advantage in choosing delegates loyal to the party. It’s their process. Every delegate, however bound, actually committed to supporting Trump or Cruz instead of a convention insert is one less opportunity for that to happen.
This website is full of Trump supporters asserting that Cruz is being played a fool for believing he has a chance to win because the establishment will use him to broker a convention away from him.
Maybe.
But Cruz is planning to counter that strategy at the delegate level.
How’s Trump planning to keep that from happening to him?
