CONFIRMED: Cruz Camp Stealing Trump Delegates from States Trump Won (VIDEO)

Townhall reporter Guy Benson today admitted the Cruz campaign is stealing Trump delegates in states that Trump won.

The Ted Cruz campaign is running Cruz supporters as Trump delegates in states that Trump won. That way they can steal the nomination from Trump in Cleveland although they’ve only won a fraction of the states Trump has won.

Guy Benson: This has been percolating for several months. He has a very sharp legal team that know the rules inside and out in a way the Trump campaign clearly does not. It’s not just Louisiana. And it’s not just finagling to just get Rubio delegates or unbound delegates. What they’re also doing is getting people elected as Trump delegates who are not, in fact, Trump loyalists. So they would be bound to Donald Trump on the first ballot only. After which, although they are technically Trump delegates, they’ve been sort of put in place to jump.

And these are the same people who call Trump supporters ‘morons’ one day and beg them to support Ted Cruz the next.

It’s called reading the rulebook.

You’re OK with a rulebook that allows free agent delegates subverting the will of the people that elected them, flaunting their ‘superior’ political chops in the voters’ faces...?

Time to take that rulebook and destroy it...

I don’t seen to remember anyone complaining when Ron Paul did the same thing four years ago.

All the anti-Romney folks thought it was "cute'...

“We vote to send the delegates to represent out vote, if the delegates are being paid off to not vote for who we want then it is is a waste of time us voting and it shows how corrupt the system is.”

All the bound delegates have to vote as they are bound on the first and perhaps more vote. If no one has a majority, the only way to get to a nominee is for delegates to switch their allegiance.

Trump should bring this to light on the stump as only Trump can.

If he starts talking about it so everyone knows what's going on, Cruz probably wouldn't make much headway.

I hope Trump has his eye towards Cali. Cruz was there yesterday meeting with his ground troops and possible delegates. I don't want Trump to take CA for granted.

“So do you also thik the electoral college violates the sanctity of voting citizens ? “

50 individual elections where the awarding of electors is rigidly followed based on who won, or by what proportion?

Nope. Doesn’t violate anything.

But if Hillary just manages to, you know, sway a few for her that she didn’t actually win, I’m sure we wont hear from you at all at how slimy or dirty that was, right?

GOOD!

Go Cruz!

I love listening to Trumpeters whine.

At best, CanuckTed is being used by his fellow Establishmentarians to stop Trump and select/insert Lyin' Ryan on 2nd or 3rd ballot.

Yep. Walker and Pat Caddell have both stated as such.

I thought FR considered those who vow to vote for the Democrat as traitors? Or does that only apply to Cruz supporters?

Cruz supporters like Mitt Romney? He of the Romney “Write in my preferred candidate” Rule? Turnabout is fair play, FRiend.

There is that. So much for hiring the smartest people and the rest of it.

You are really heading off the deep end from an edge of situational ethics into a pool of slime.

The ends do not justify the means.

The only thing I can see wrong with this strategy is what you said, that perhaps Cruz has overestimated his support among the delegates chosen at the state level. Heck, after the first ballot, maybe some Cruz delegates will switch to Trump (or Kasich)! Who knows. Anything is possible of course.

Right here though, I see Cruz being as proactive as possible. I don’t see Trump doing the same. So if, going into the convention, no one has the magic number, then the winner is going to be whomever has the most loyal delegates.

The same thing you describe (McConnel, Ryan crushing him after the first ballot) is surely a danger for Trump just as much as for Cruz. I simply see Cruz being better positioned to defend himself against such an establishment onslaught than Trump.

“Cruz has to know that he will lose the election if he wins the nomination by playing dirty.”

Why is following the rules playing ‘dirty’?

It’s a wonderful “rulebook”, unless it was Jeb that was using it against Cruz.

These these slugs would be screaming about bolting the party.

So I don’t know what the Trump supporters are worried about. Aren’t you confident Trump is going to reach the magic number anyway? Where’s all that bravado that’s told the rest of us for months now that “it’s over”?

No worries. Trump is the nom or the GOP wing of the Uniparty dies. It’s a Win-Win for Trumpers.

Plenty of people complained and it’s what prompted the change in Rule 40B.

This coming from a Trumpkin....whose boy supported and helped elect Hillary Clinton Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi to office and then unleashed them to destroy the republic.

Trump also donated to Ted Cruz. What a mistake that was.

There’s no usurping of the people’s will here.

You are joking, right...? You as a voter have no problem with a delegate who subverts your will by resorting to arcane subterfuge in order to impose his ‘superior’ political will on you, by voting for someone other than you did...?

You’re OK with tactics designed to bring such subterfuge into the process, so as to acheive the goal of the minority, and to rub your political insignificance in your face...?
