MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Ted Cruz says there is a risk that Donald Trump supporters would bolt from the Republican Party if he loses the nomination at the GOP convention this summer.

That’s why Cruz said in an interview on WTMJ radio in Milwaukee on Thursday that the best course is for the Texas senator to win a majority of the delegates before then.

You want to talk "toxic combination of ego and mouth"? Cruz should be thanking his lucky stars every day that Donald Trump was in this race, or we would be looking at a Jeb-Rubio ticket from the Republican party.

Cruz has actually been a beneficiary of Trump's anti-establishment campaign thus far.

But all this scheming and conniving to figure out how to "stop Trump". Where the hell was this when we were running against Obama in 2012? They have literally thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Trump, blacked out the media and slanted every story in horrifically disparaging terms.

They act like Trump is a cross between Ted Bundy, Adolph Hitler, and Satan. Where was all this vitriol when Obama was running????

What a pity - at one point I'd have crawled over broken glass to vote for Cruz but he didn't turn out to be quite what I hoped he was. I would still vote for him at this point (1) because Hillary, (2) because I said I would, and (3) if he's the nominee he's the best we can hope for. And frankly, that's more than a little disappointing.

The point is the overthrow of a stifling, arrogant, overbearing uniparty, and we may have to take what we can get on that.

Cruz is not GOPe... but Trump si going to need the party, like it or not to win this and most certainly the general...or was his plan all along to split the entire thing so he can hand it to Hillary?...
I’m voting for Cruz and really glad for ‘any’ that support and endorse him to win. Five past Presidents supporting him is fine with me...it’s ‘the win’ that counts...as Trump always is saying...and Cruz intends to take this until we have a winner.

Cruz cannot win FL, OH, or VA. Trump had 3.1, 2.5 and 2.0 times as many voters in those states. The only way Cruz can possibly be the nominee now is if Trump gets booted in the convention. Where then will Cruz find votes to win those states. It won’t be Dem crossovers, it won’t be Moderate Independents, and a Trump voters will be rightly pissed that their candidate with the most delegates and votes, is out. Cruz will not get enough of those votes to win this election or any other.

There was only one path for Cruz after getting crushed in the south, and that was joining with Trump hoping for VP position. His actions now are costing us a chance a the Presidency and him any political future outside Texas.

Yes he is GoPe, 6 months ago I would have agreed with you, not now, plenty evidence says he’s fully joined the party of presidential election failure. He’s become their useful idiot. Useful to the GoPe for taking out Trump, Idiot because his actions will cost us the white house.
