What a feeble reply. The article isn’t addressing the author, or the poster, or you or me or anyone else who maintains moral certainties.

Everyone is already in their “Galt’s Gulch” places.
* Avoid buying anything that you don’t really need. Save.
* Continually study and practice becoming more self-sufficient.
* Learn to manufacture something useful as a hobby for now, and have a look at open source equipment design projects.

Federalism is indeed the key. If for no other reason, a senate of the states would never consent to the likes of Kagan, Ginsberg, Sotomayor and many other social justice warriors going back to FDR.

I like gas to steam engine conversions. Lots of raw materials. Good til the trees are gone, anyway.

Gas engines converted to steam are very interesting. Have you looked at wood gas builds? Wood gas is showing some good efficiency.

A bit, another alternative. Probably less noticeable emissions from afar, too.
