> a choice between two evils.

I am not seeing evil in Trump.
I certainly see evil in HRC.

It’s damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don’t for voters

Fr. Schall joins the legions of those who equate the deficiencies of Donald Trump with the Satanic wickedness of Hillary Clinton. Puke.

Another worthless ivory tower puke. Double puke.

This is a very interesting and gripping essay. Do I have permission to share? Caring citizens need to take in the wisdom of James V. Schall. The truth will set us free.

These dang intellectuals. They take quantum leaps that defy logic to get from hypothesis to conclusion. Because they invoke smart-sounding knowledge and tone, we're supposed to accept their garbage.

The hypothesis is that the system has produced two flawed candidates. The only logical choice, then, would be the choice that does the most to destroy that system. Duhhh....that's Trump.

This author is always worth reading. One thing he didn’t mention, though, is what makes this situation more difficult than any other, earlier time: the corruption of the Faith under a feckless, statist pope who is attempting to conform the Church to the very world that gave us the likes of Trump and Clinton.

This is the most thought-provoking thing I have read in a long time. Civilization is collapsing and this goes far beyond any party or candidate.

Rev. James V. Schall SJ is a typical American/Western religious. The option he can’t fathom is the - Russia nukes the apostate west option. Russia is undergoing a massive spiritual awakening, is cited as the saviour of Christianity in the Fatima messages and is the last man standing with useable nukes. Having no political will to use nukes sort of negates their entire existence vis a vis the USA.

It is rather illuminating the Amount of hate Trump gets from his own party

“It is rather illuminating the amount of hate Trump gets from his own party.”

That’s why the ranks of “Independents” is going to be increased by at least one voter. (this one)

The question is, why have Republicans allowed themselves to be steam-rolled by obnoxious, adolescent, Progressive punks?

It might just be that the population has been propagandized to the point where they involuntarily become anxious if they stray from the Progressive line and reflexively pull the lever for its policies.

Just saying.

IMHO

People that worry about the next president and who it will be are like people who are rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

North Korea.Iran. Islam on the march. Unfettered migration into America by the Latin Americans.
As for me, I’m planning the best that I can for after a Nuclear incident in the US, and to have enough food,a fallout shelter and medication for 6 months to indefinite.

Unless I get vaporized. Perhaps that is the “rapture”. That would be a sure way to die and not ever know of it.

Exactly right. This is an essay about the collapse of western civilization and is broad in scope. It has very little, almost nothing to do with the election. Those that immediately defend Trump obviously did not read past the first paragraph which upset their world-view.

It is an excellent essay.

The choice is a symptom of a culture which has been corrupted over the past 50 years by the decay of the family, moral relativism, fading religious commitment and a forgetfulness of history.

You left out...

SIN

Oh...

I see why...

An insane fear of the gods plagued most people, gods which had been invented by clever politicians and poets to make rule easier by postulating mythical rewards and punishments.
