I’m in Apple Valley a couple of times a month. I’m not an expert on the area, but my impression is this.
It’s a remote area near Victorville, California.
There are parts of the area that is very remote. We’re talking desert area. In certain places you could probably point a gun and not have a soul or structure within ten miles in the line of sight.
The chanting would concern me. That mixed with gunfire would too, especially if you live close to the back of the shooters, or worse.
On the other hand, I can see why the officers may not have much of a beef with the shooters too. It would depend if they were withing the city limits, and what ordinances were in effect.
This may not be as big a deal as some folks might think on first blush.
I agree. In my neck of the woods people shoot all the time. Normal country guys shooting is no big deal. A bunch of turbans and chanting? lol who chants while shooting? would definitely draw the long arm of the law if someone reported it as such.
SB Sheriff’s Dept is stretched thin.
Incident appears to only have one FBI agent witnessing events.
Halfway between 29 Palms and Ft Irwin.
Realistic? Yes.
Would you venture into Harlem, wearing a KKK outfit, start roasting mannequins hanging from trees and shooting pistols while calling out the ‘N’ word? No different behavior than what these folk are bringing to the table.
A rifle built from parts without a serial number and firing other weapons while wearing turbans and shouting Allah Ackbar phrases? BATF could hold them for even lesser charges.
Locals in law enforcement and in the military feel it.
Lots of people from Chicago brought into the neighborhoods with independent incomes greater than the highest paid local desert officials over the past 6 years.
Something is brewing and nobody seems to have the whole picture, but lots of different corrupt justifications arise to condone such behavior. Lots of people with Masonic connections take leave and vacation at the same time outside of normal holiday periods.
Something is brewing.
