I did not attack you with venom. I stated my observations in a pretty matter of fact sort of way. If you did not intend for your message thread to be regarded as a subtle attack on Ted Cruz's current misery, then you just had bad timing. Many threads now are filled with rancor directed first at one candidate, then at the other, so now everyone is suspicious of the motives of anyone posting a thread about a candidate they do not support.

I wouldn't have been able to tell you that much. I don't bother keeping up with what Cruz's wife is doing. I actually don't much bother keeping up with what Ted Cruz himself is doing. My state has already spoken, so I have no further impact on the outcome. He will either win or lose based on what other people decide.

And this is the real thing we need to keep in mind. Whether Cruz is guilty or innocent, his Kids and probably his Wife does not deserve to be put through this.

I see this differently. In 1980, Ronald Reagan defeated the George HW Bush establishment machine. The Bush machine then joined Reagan in order to remain relevant.
I think the Bush machine has just joined Cruz in order to remain relevant. It isn't because they control him, it's because doing this is the only way they can hold on to some connection with power.
It is just the deal they made with Reagan redux.
