NFL players have such a short life span, they will never boycott playing over this. They need to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible

Most would have “boycotted” over the Redskins name if they actually were worried about political principles, but none do.

Government to NFL. “Nice anti-trust exemption you’ve got there.. hate to see anything bad happen to it.”

This was the last straw for me. I'm sure the league can be supported by the gay fans. Goodall is a douchebag.

Meh. The point is missed here.

It is, and always will be, about $. Why do you think the GA Gov vetoed that legislation?

Spitting into the wind on this issue.

Roger Goodell makes one bad decision after another.

NFK football is at its peak in popularity. It is fun to watch and gets a big audience. That is not caused by Goodell.

What is cause by Goodell are terrible decisions on player discipline. Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, the fraudulent Wells Report and the whole Tom Brady mess are Goodell’s fault.

The whole Michael Sam fraud is Goodell’s fault.

The pressuring of states to favor homosexuals over sincere Christians is Goodell's fault.

The replacement refs fiasco was Goodell’s fault. The stupid and incomprehensible rule changes are Goodell’s fault. The playing of more and more games in foreign countries is Goodell’s fault.

"Now, sports commentators like Jason Whitlock on Fox Sports 1 are saying, “Michael Sam was a stunt by the NFL. It was a play to the politically correct crowd. The guy’s too short, not fast enough off the ball, he’s not an NFL player, and I think people did the homework on him and said, ‘You know what, I don’t know if he really, really loves the game.’”

Anyone who saw his performance at the NFL combine knew he was not an NFL caliber player. Too small and week for D line and way to slow to move to LB. As it turned out he wasn't even good enough to cut it in the Canadian league.

I’m ready to give up on the NFL over a few things - 5 hour games and 1000 commercials per game. Armed security and TSA-style searches at stadiums, prices for everything they sell - and of course, the NFL injecting itself in politics.

How nice of the author to volunteer the players to not get paid.

How long until the NFL stops allowing this after their games?

I am done with the NFL. My viewing has been less and less the past few years. Yesterday was the final nail in the coffin

A great game that has been hijacked to create a gladiator style environment to allow a segment of the population that cannot succeed to be able to become wealthy and status symbols for a targeted youth audience to give them “heroes” outside of what true role models should be...

It also, like everything else is becoming globalized which will dilute the game even more just for a buck.

The NFL will continue to do these things. As some have pointed out, the Feds will threaten the antitrust exemption. Local/state governments will threaten funding their stadiums (what a joke that taxpayers pay for those things).

The NFL doesn’t care though. They know their liberal viewers will keep tuning. They also know their conservative viewers will bitch about them, but still keep tuning in thus funding the slime.

I used to love that game. I haven’t followed any of it for 4 seasons now. Its a joke. There’s a rule for everything now. On almost any given play, some kind of penalty can be called. I think they like it that way ... they can keep the games somewhat close. Once the NFL started getting *really* political, I simply stopped watching all together.

You’d be amazed how light traffic is on Sunday when everyone is at home watching their game show on TV. You can get a lot of running around done :-).
