The Mor_ons have this male thing called the “Priesthood”. There are 3 levels - Aaronic, Mechizedek, and Patriarchal. When a boy turns 12 (I believe), he receives the Aaronic.
Not until 1978 were any black Mor_on “church” members eligible to hold ANY priesthood title. God changed his mind and told Ezra Taft Benson that blacks were now acceptable.
God must’ve missed telling that to Brigham Young - “Shall I tell you the LAW OF GOD in regard to the AFRICAN race? If the WHITE MAN who belongs to the CHOSEN SEED mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is DEATH ON THE SPOT. This will ALWAYS be so.”
Something may have been rising but I don't think it was the Priesthood.
