A Sex Scandal? Who Cares? (some interesting tidbits)
American Spectator ^ | F.H. Buckley

Posted on 03/26/2016 9:40:45 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

I don’t now about you, but I’ve found the Republican race a bit of a disappointment until now. Sure, there was the enjoyment of mud-wrestling “debates,” the spectacle of Trump-derangement syndrome, but where was the sex scandal?

And when we get the sex scandal, it’s about Ted Cruz!

Still, beggars can’t be choosers. The scandal, such as it was, has been floating around for a least six months. That’s when a reporter (not from the Spectator) called to ask if I knew anyone who could confirm the story. (As if I’m supposed to know this stuff.) I told him I didn’t and that the people I knew wouldn’t want to touch it, even if they knew something about it.

Now the story has gone public, thanks to a muck-raking journal that as it happened also outed John Edwards. And everyone is wondering whether the story is true.

Except me. Because I don’t much care if it’s true. Given Heidi, I wouldn’t blame Ted. After all, she apparently refuses to live with him. And given Ted, I wouldn’t blame Heidi.

Novelists will sometimes mention some little incident that doesn’t really move the story line, but which nonetheless matters. The little incident that sticks in my mind is the story that she once ran out of the house and was found on the side of the highway by the police, who thought her suicidal. What sticks in my mind is that Ted hadn’t followed her.

I found this very interesting...http://...../1dB3VXwD6X0

sarasotarepublican, you should not be sending people out to see that STILL REPORT #736, because one day later, Bill Still refuted the juiciest part of it in his own STILL REPORT #737. He realized he fell for a faked photoshopped story.

"I fell for this apparently faked photoshopped image of a National Enquirer page. -Bill Still, Mar 26, 2016"

During that time they got married too. Newlyweds. How sad is that?

Ever heard of Postpartum Depression?

Yes, I have, but not three years before you give birth.Check the dates, Cruz’s eldest daughter is seven years old.

Danger to herself’: What cop thought of Ted Cruz’s wife when he found her sitting on an expressway with her head in her hands 10 years ago

Police reported they found Heidi Cruz, 43, by the roadside in 2005
The police officer said he ‘believed she was a danger to herself’
Adviser to Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said she suffered from ‘a brief bout of depression’ ten years ago

Who still cares about candidate's extramarital affairs?

Hypocrisy bothers me. Yeah, maybe most people lie about sex a little, but this is major hypocrisy in his appeal to the evangelicals as Mr. Virtue. If (big IF, not proven) he's that deceitful to them, how can he be trusted in other areas?

Ah! A male expert on where a woman who is in the throes of intense emotion will go for privacy. Absent a handy mountain top, an abandoned barn, a patch of woods; the freeway is a great alternative. Where could you be more alone? Everyone is moving at high speed, focused on where they are going, you are invisible. The noise blots out the sounds of your sobs and the thoughts in your head.

The police office spotted her because he is trained to look for anomalies and he took her in to cover his rear.

I am telling you something all of you who denigrate Cruz by referencing this incident need to hear. You are lower than low to drag thus into the public domain again and again over politics. How would your wife or daughter or mother feel if the same was done to them? What do you think these posts are doing for the reputation of conservatives among women? This stuff pops up on Google and Bing searches.

Unkind, insensitive, boorish and just plain stupid.

I am actually a woman and have had much very severe distress in my life, tragedies. I know what it is like to feel near or practically over the edge.

Going to a place that is 10 feet from a freeway is something that never would have occurred to me despite many dire and desperate situations.

Well, that’s you. I find the idea that a woman is so without compassion for another woman as to keep posting about a private moment of distress in a public forum downright despicable.

What I find most troubling is the money to the Carly campaign. I know this is cliché. But in what may be the most important election of our lifetime, We cannot have a leader that is beholden to anyone.

That's for sure. Speaking of beholden, I still don't see much written about Hillary's potential blackmail with the whole email/server thing.

As another aside, it makes me think back of the Hmmmm I had when Sarah Palin endorsed Trump so early when she was so all in for Ted when he was running for senate. A vibe she was picking up? I remember thinking, "Well, now isn't that interesting."

The Cruz couple are public figures because they have made themselves public figures. There is now a huge swirling storm of allegations and potentional devastating accusations about Cruz right now, and also about Heidi’s CFR connections.

FR is a news site where member comment on the news.

Which part of the above is not clear to you?
