NCAA monitoring North Carolina anti-discrimination law
ESPN ^ | March 24, 2016

While the NCAA continues to monitor the situation, major corporations took stands Thursday against a new North Carolina law that bans anti-discrimination measures based on sexual orientation and gender identity and requires transgender people to use public bathrooms that match their birth certificates.

American Airlines, which operates its second-largest hub in Charlotte, joined biotech company Biogen and payments processor PayPal as corporations condemning the new law.

The NCAA, which is scheduled to hold men's basketball tournament games in Greensboro in 2017 and Charlotte in 2018, issued a statement saying it's monitoring the situation and takes diversity into account when it chooses its event sites.

ESPN, which is considering Charlotte as a new home for the Summer X Games, said in a statement that it is also monitoring the situation.

"At ESPN, we embrace diversity and inclusion and will evaluate all of our options as we seek a new city for the X Games."

The NBA, which is scheduled to hold the 2017 All-Star Game in Charlotte, also released a statement on the issue via Twitter.

Didn’t like 70% of the voters in ultra-liberal Houston also reject allowing men to enter women’s restrooms / shower facilities and vice versa? Why do these companies act like there is any amount of public support for this nonsense? They’ve been doing business in places that have had these laws on the books for a long period of time and there has not been any “oppression” of people as a result. It is utter nonsense.

Doesn’t matter cause that 70% is largely mushy on the matter...a lot of those 70 percents are the same ones supporting Trump and his glbt political promo of that agenda

Every time this traitor in the White House leaves, shit hits the fan for our Republic, this time he’s spitting in our face.

Houston is not ultra-liberal.

It has repeatedly elected Sheila Jackson Lee as its member of Congress by wide margins for more than two decades. I think it is...but then again, who knows anymore - maybe she, too, is now considered a conservative.

My college student niece said “if you think women went to the bathroom in groups before, you should see the “gender neutral” bathrooms now. We're not going in there alone when we know there's a weird looking guy in there.” There was also the time, she said, when the transgender “woman” didn't put the seat up and had bad aim. Obviously the MAN still has his parts and the women (to me college age girls) got into an argument with him, and he tried reporting them to the police for discrimination! I won't say where this happened but the officer basically said if you have a d**k, use the men's room.

If Houston isn’t ultra-liberal then why was militant lesbian Annise Parker elected mayor?

Sounds pretty liberal to me.

I think it’s a scam. I watched a video on a high school boy who claimed to be transgender. He didn’t even act like a girl, he acted and talked like a jock, and he was wearing a dress and a wig, claiming that he should be changing and showering in the girls locker room because he identifies as a girl. Oh Hell No. He just wants a peep show

Silverback Jackson Lee and Bull Parker were elected by and represent the downtown and southeast parts of the city ... read: minorities, unions and welfare recipients.

The suburbs, where people are educated and work for a living, are quite conservative indeed. Among other things.s, they sent Ron Paul to Congress.

“NCAA continues to monitor the situation”

Sounds ominous, like jack-booted thugs are on alert, ready to storm in

Hmm so the corporations are going to dictate? May be a good thing for the US to disintegrate.
