You need a serious antidote to your Trumpism. This virus makes you act reflexively when any negative information is posted about your “Dear Leader.” I trip toNorth Korea might help.

Simple solution, beat Donald in the primaries. If he can't do that, how can he beat Hillary?

Are we supposed to believe that turnout for the general election will go down for Trump, but up for Cruz in the general election if only "Trumpkins" would just stay at home for the primaries?

Supposedly you all are the smart ones, and we are the low-information disengaged (according to Cruzerlosers of course), yet somehow you bright people, using pretzel logic, claim a Cruz victory where Trump comes up short in the general. The pretzel comes in of course that we have to move out of the way so Cruz can become the nominee for the Republican Party, because we keep Ted from getting by Trump. Of course Ted then easily sails past Hillary. Is that with or without our help in the general? I'm so confused as to how we get this done.

My commodore is not computing that for some reason. Trump support keeps Ted from winning over Trump, but Trump support does not overcome Hillary Support. At the same token Cruz's inability to get by Trump, enables them to get by Hillary, but only if Trump supporters will get out of the way in the primary. Have I got this right?

Apparently you guys are thicker than bricks, and we are too smart to fall for your BS. Because that is all you guys have to offer, BS and it goes by the name of Cruz.

Kasich? Absolutely NOT!

But we can’t have a con artist win the nomination and take down the whole country with him which all polls now suggest he’ll lose in a landslide to Hillary and, that even the senate will go up in flames. Hillary will stack the federal judiciary with Planned Parenthood and LGBT sympathizes that will place the country in a toilet. Is this something you are willing to risk? Trump loses by 18 points to Hillary whereas Cruz is just 3 points behind her. The choice is clear.

Of course, you are an exception. But the general polling data (that Trump loves to cite) concludes otherwise.

I know there has been a lot of back and forth here about this, but it is not the pro-Trump people on this website who are single-handedly choosing Trump. The reality is that he has done a better job selling himself to Republican primary voters than the other candidates. They (the other candidates) have no one to blame but themselves. The reality is that we haven't had outstanding candidates for a fairly long time.

Donald J. Trump would be the weakest Republican presidential candidate to face off against Hillary Clinton in a general election matchup, according to a new poll that shows Senator Ted Cruz and Gov. John Kasich as stronger nominees against the Democratic front-runner.

True. All those tens of thousands of supporters who show up in 10x20 coffee shops for Cruz will not be denied...

If the GOP degenerates in the hands of the tatooed legions of Trump supporters, then bring me back to the days of the country club.

That would be "blue-painted Picts", to you.

> polls are not predictive of anything.

The only polls I believe are the votes counted.
What I find most interesting are the sample sizes.

So far in 2016 20.3 million GOP votes have been cast.
( and I have only counted for Trump, Cruz, Rube, Kasich,Carson)
Trump got 7.8M 38%, Cruz got 5.7M 28%, Kasich 2.8M 14%

By March 2012 10.3 Million had voted GOP.
Romney got 4.1M and Santorum had 2.8M

By March 2008 7.5 Million had voted GOP.
McPain got 2.7M Romney had 2.5M

Here is the real kicker:
So far in 2016 15.3 Million Dems voted.
Clinton got 8.9M 58%, Sanders has 6.4M 42%

By March 2008 a whopping 27.9 Million Dems had voted.
Obama had 14M, Clinton had 13.9M

These numbers give me encouragement.

“Sorry, the but the desperation from you Cruz supporters is causing you to lose all ability to use reason and logic.”

Steelfish needs to go up to Canada where there’s stlll a lot of snow and stick his butt in it. I’ve seldom see anyone take so much fire on such a fool’s mission. He and GGG need to go into hiding. And take “loopylu” with them!

I think that before this is over, Cruz is going to have a Jimmy Swaggart moment. It should be a hoot.

In the last 48 hours we have had a consistent string of polls

Yes, a consistent string of propaganda. How heroic our media is for keeping us informed.

Hey, if Hillary will beat Trump so easily, then why is the New York Times and Hillary's other cheerleader news outlets so keen on assuring us of that?

Do they have our best interests in mind?

Are they trying to help the GOP?

I mean, wouldn't they prefer to face Donald Trump, if he's so easy to beat?

Lol! They're all scared sh!tless and they desperately want people to believe this spin, so as to weaken Trump.

How much more obvious could it be?

And it looks like Steelfish wants us to believe it, too, because he's appears to be one of the bubbas that actually seems to believe this boob bait!

That's why he's carrying the MSM/GOPe water so diligently!

I guess we're all supposed to base our Presidential preference on what the NYT and lamestream media propaganda machine "polls" say, 7 months out?

Lol! Go, Trump, go!

Okay, then why don’t you explain for us why Trump’s kicking Cruz’s A$$ thus far? Why don’t you further explain how a guy like Cruz, who can’t beat Trump, can beat Hillary?

Trump has a strong base of support of 35-45% of Republican voters in these primaries. With multiple candidates running, that's been enough to win most states so far, but winning a general election is a completely different ballgame. To win a general election you have to consolidate 85-90% of your own party, plus win a majority of independents. Trump has very high negatives among half the Republican party as well as most of the rest of the electorate. He would lose in a landslide to Hillary.

Cruz on the other hand is much less unpopular among both republicans and the larger electorate. This is why you see him polling better against Hillary than Trump does.

The Romney/Bush/Cruz superpacs have spent over a half a trillion dollars recently trashing Trump. Nobody is spending that kind of money attacking Hillary. It’s not surprising that his numbers have gone down some. That just proves things can change. Once this nonsense stops and he is the nominee they will go the other way.

And you are wrong as usual (blinded by your hatred). Trump is the best candidate in 2016 for President. A successful business man, and a human being. He is NOT my leader, simply a man running for office. And he is not a slimy lawyer/politician.
