Sorry to contradict, but no, not everyone.

If you watch for them, every now and again you’ll find another article about somebody who starved to death trying to lose weight, without having lost a microgram.

In 2001 I bought a recumbent bicycle. Went on a strict 1000 calorie/day diet that was low carb. Rode the bike at least 150 miles a week.

At the end of six weeks I weighed myself (I had avoided weighing myself as the weeks went along; not easy :). I had lost a total of TWO POUNDS. Very disappointed.

IMHO, there is a lot to losing weight that we aren't aware of. Yet.

Bingo. And the best place to start is by not putting calories in your mouth. Food is like gasoline - it takes a few minutes to put in the tank, but hundreds of miles to burn. In other words, have fun exercising off a can of Coke or a maple bar. It takes “forever.”
