Someone who has a solid career outside of politics behind them may have a big ego because they've been successful but that's a far cry from someone who has lived off of the taxpayer their entire working life, doesn't bat an eye when his supporters say he's the face of God and anyone who doesn't support him isn't obeying God. The narcissist is the one who feels entitled to live off everyone else their entire life and retire in comfort fairly young, just like the current junior Senator who is in the White House (which is, by the by, the comparison YOU made).
