And to realize Emerson is in Boston,MA. Chalking a sidewalk is now graffiti, vandalism and hate speech. What would the founders make of this?
From another article I saw on this, they actually allow the children students there to draw on the sidewalks with chalk, but they have “rules” which the school originally said were not broken.
If I was a parent paying $40-50K a year for my kids education and they were still playing with sidewalk chalk, that kid would be yanked out of there and marched directly to the nearest military recruiting office
To realize the article is not about Emerson in Boston. From the excerpt above:
Students at the Atlanta school, which has an enrollment of more than 14,000 claim their 'safe space' was violated when the messages appeared on sidewalks and buildings.Emory University is in Atlanta GA.
Emory University Hospital Midtown began as the Davis-Fischer Sanatorium, before becoming a nonprofit hospital in 1931 and being renamed for Crawford Long, the Georgia physician who discovered that sulfuric ether could be used as an anesthetic. Long became the first surgeon to use the anesthesia during an 1842 operation when he removed a tumor from the neck of a patient he had rendered insensible with an ether-soaked towel (the bill: $2 for the operation and ether).
