Fox News Poll: Cruz, Kasich Ahead of Clinton In 2016 Hypothetical Matchups

By Dana Blanton Published March 23, 2016 FoxNews.com

Republicans are eager to win back the White House in 2016. A new Fox News national poll finds both John Kasich and Ted Cruz ahead of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton in hypothetical matchups, while Donald Trump trails her. Kasich does best against Clinton. He has a double-digit advantage and also comes in above the 50 percent mark: 51 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent. Cruz is preferred over Clinton by three percentage points (47-44 percent). Clinton tops GOP front-runner Donald Trump by 11 points (49-38 percent).

“1980 USA no longer exists. If it did, Romney would have won in a landslide too. “

NOT SO SIMPLE. Back then people were still voting Democrat simply due to nostalgia - for JFK, and being in unions - that’s why Reagan did so poorly with white voters. Thankfully they’re pretty much retired from that.

Also the Democrat Party today is MUCH MORE LEFTIST than back then. Consider that the Dems had a SOLID MAJORITY in the House throughout Reagan’s terms and he got A LOT done...huge amounts done. Back then there were Democrats that weren’t nearly as radicalized. They actually could give white voters something to vote for.

Today, the VAST MAJORITY of white voters have ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION with the Democrats, but as long as the Republicans aren’t offering anything to them, many will simply vote for the guy handing out the goodies.

The ONLY WAY Hillary can win, given her baggage, in addition to the baggage of the Democrat Party is for Trump’s people to take their votes elsewhere if he gets DOUBLE-CROSSED at the convention. Millions of people, me included, will happily pull the lever for whoever Trump tells us to (or not at all). We owe the GOPe NOTHING if they try that stunt.

We gave you GOPe’s your man twice, and voted for them, just to see him get TROUNCED, so we really GET SICK of you guys telling us who’s electable and who’s not. Your track record is HORRENDOUS.

We will NOT support another Romney/Jeb/Linda/Ryan again. Not a chance, and considering that there is NO WAY Cruz will be on the ticket, I guess that means that our leftist nominee will get his ass wiped in November.

The primary is harbinger of what will occur in the general.

“Plenty of evidence. He who has ears, let him hear, he who has eyes, let him see.”

I agree.

Most recent polls
PA - Clinton +8 over Trump
OH - Clinton +6 over Trump
FL - Clinton +8 over Trump

Trump has some serious work cut for him.

A "hypothetical" matchup at this point is nothing but mental masturbation.

Wrong. Most recent poll on Super Tues. Trump beat Clinton by 35,000 votes in OH even when coming in second.

You mean CLINTON has done work to do.

Saw it was Fox. Had a good laugh at the headline. Didn’t bother reading the article. At this point, have already given it more time than it deserves.

In other words; Trump wins. Good to know.

You’re referring to primaries. I’m referencing general election matchups. And time will tell if too much is read into those crossover Trump “supporters.”

Fox News is shilling hard for Trump on every single show. This poll is totally consistent with EVERY other poll which shows the same thing and has for months, Trump losing big to Hillary while Cruz beats her. In fairness, Trump seems to losing bigger and bigger to Hillary with every new poll.

You Nutter-Trumpers just can’t stop living out the lies your Dear Leader spews over the airwaves that he is beating Hillary in the polls. He isn’t and never was.

No, YOU are referring to polls. I am referring to actual votes. Votes always have more validity than polls, primary or otherwise.

Hellary has 8,907,556 votes so far. Trump has 7,811,245. So Trump and the rest of the GOP have no turnout advantage over Hellary at all. They have a disadvantage. This won’t be an easy election and we can’t afford to start with a guy who’s already 10 points behind.

Trump would likely win New York in the general. GAME OVER.

Native son Donald J Trump from New York becoming the next President of the United States would be historic in modern times. Last time a President came from New York was 1932.

Would love for Trump to win New York in both the primary and general.

There were initially 17 candidates on the Republican side versus 3 on the Democrat side.

Trump will beat Hillary, even though at this point it is apparent that former Presidents George H and W and Romney will vote for Hillary over Trump. It is digesting. Both the Bushes and Romney think they have better pedigree than Trump. They look down on Trump and think he is beneath them socially, etc.

So how many votes does Cruz have?

The vote counts are not equivalent.

Hillary is in a two person race.

Trump has been in a 12 person (max) race, now down to three persons.

Nice try, though.
