“I hope a Trump administration will outlaw computer voting. Where Im at we have nice fill in the bubble ballots that can be both optically scanned and hand counted.”
Well, first of all, neither any Presidential administration nor the Congress can “outlaw computer voting”, as it is not their place to set voting laws in the states. The individual states set their own voting laws. Also, we all saw what happened with paper ballots in the Bush vs Gore debacle.
The days of hanging chads in Floriduh are long gone thankfully.
"Also, we all saw what happened with paper ballots in the Bush vs Gore debacle."
Oy vey.
Not all "paper" ballots are created equal.
She's referring to an 'optical' ballot which is simply fill in the bubble, scanable, easily checked for mistakes (the scanner will spit out the near complete majority of mistakes like double-votes, etc, on the spot - in my state, you don't have to leave until you get the green light and you are satisfied everything was as it should be), and able to be hand-counted handily.
In 2000, there were counties in Florida that had (and still have) 'punch-out' ballots which are specifically designed for fraud viz 'hanging chads'.
I think I saw where online voting only permitted in primaries, not general.
