U.S. home resales fell sharply in February in a potentially troubling sign for America's economy... February's decline weighed on investor sentiment, with the S&P 500 stock index falling after the data was released. Sales fell across the country, including a 17.1 percent plunge in the U.S. Northeast...Shares of homebuilders briefly fell more than 2 percent after the news, including William Lyon, D.R. Horton, Beazer Home and PHM.

And you wonder why contractors are building new houses with no market. As George Carlin said: “Everybody has a home. You just need a house to put it in” ... I hate the term “Homes for sale”
New homes are being built when contracts are written, no spec homes. They got bit big time, so changed their methods. Also, Feb was COLD, just seasonal. It is like looking outside and seeing rain and deciding to build an ark instead of realizing that it is season for rain.
I could settle for a hobby farm in the Sierra foothills about now.. Minimal snow. Grow some fruit.. Sell this joint in the SiLLYCON Valet Parking lot some call a ‘home’.. Its more a pot hole filled realm of rich and poor and illegals kind of community.. Sadly all too typical of all too many of our nation’s communities of late

Maybe so in blue states. Here in red state Idaho you had better not list your house until you’re ready to move.
Odd how outsourcing jobs, 95 million not in the workforce, the Cheap Labor Express and no cash could affect that....
Can I vent a bit on my FRiends Here. I’m selling a house. It’s 35 Y’s/O. But it needs to be free of all defects. The offers are (I’ll pay xxx provided I get a home inspection) . Wife says I’m nuts... How about you (they) look at the house, have it inspected and make an offer. But, NO, I’ll just stop here. Huh!
It’s probably all the in-door toilets...
