Pope Francis: Rejecting Refugees Is Like Crucifying Jesus
Daily Caller ^ | 3/21/16 | Casey Harper

(Daily Caller) Pope Francis went off script and turned political during his Palm Sunday homily, comparing nations who won’t accept refugees to the leaders who allowed the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Francis spoke for the Christian holiday in St. Peter’s Square Sunday, where he compared leaders indifferent to the fate of the flood of refugees migrating to Europe to the leaders who did not intervene to save Jesus, Reuters reports.

“I am thinking of so many other people, so many marginalized people, so many asylum seekers, so many refugees,” Francis said. “There are so many who don’t want to take responsibility for their destiny.”

Palm Sunday is the day Christians celebrate Jesus coming into the city of Jerusalem riding on a donkey, as prophesied in the Old Testament. It also marks one week before Jesus rose from the dead. The Gospels say the people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus on Sunday with cheers in the streets, but by the end of the week he was crucified.

“Jesus also suffered on his own skin indifference, because no one wanted to take on the responsibility for his destiny,” Francis said. “And I am thinking of so many people, so many on the margins, so many refugees” for whom “many don’t want to assume responsibility for their destiny,”

Francis’s original homily stuck to more traditional Palm Sunday topics of Jesus, life and death, and the forgiveness of sins.

Taking responsibility for someone else’s destiny?

Isn't that their job? Or their parent's, if children.

Help, yes, but responsibility? This is from Satan.

Pope Francis, who lives in Vatican City, which has the most restrictive immigration and citizenship policies in the world, and accuses presidential candidate Donald Trump of "not being a Christian" for wanting to build a wall to protect the American people.

First of all, the Pope is protected by a private army

Since 1990, the standard issue pistol of the Swiss guard has been the Sig P220

The Sig 552 is standard issue with the Swiss Guards (for when swords alone will not do).

The HK MP7 (probably) rides shotgun with the dark (purple) suit wearing Swiss Guardsmen closest to the pope

and the pope lives safely and secluded behind far bigger walls than any Trump plans to build.

The Bible instructs us to accept the refugee and in fact, hide him from his persecutors. Clearly the Bible defines a refugee far differently than our modern perceptions.

It is clearly arguable that the muslim refugee is not under the persecution of Islam. So therefore they are not refugees. So, what are they?

If we are indeed moving towards the tribulation we will witness people migrating away from whatever plague is being poured out. Some Christians believe they won’t be here due to the ‘rapture,’ but the Catholic Church doesn’t teach ‘rapture.’ So if there is no ‘rapture’ how is a Christian to respond to the suffering of the Tribulations? We also know there is to be a great falling away of faith during this time as hearts harden against the pain and suffering.

Maybe the Pope should stick to reading the Bible instead of the Progressive Handbook.

Okay popey. After filling all empty rooms and grand halls with refugees, erect those air conditioned tents in every open spot in the Vatican. Until you walk the walk, stop the talk.

Tourists will find another Italian City to lavish with their euros and dollars.

Also, why isn’t popey telling wealthy Catholics like the Kennedy’s and Pelosis to open their homes, grounds, and hearts, to the “refugees.”

How many refugees are accepted and living inside of Vatican City? Exactly Obama.
PS— BTW Popa what about all those Syrian Christians under persecution? You should be speaking out more for them than climate change.

When they are NOT “refugees”, but only seeking SOCIALIST HANDOUTS, or are TERRORISTS seeking to infiltrate European culture......

Then what?

Modern catholiciism has a different jesus, not the Jesus of Christianity, a jesus who empowers the man-made institution. So, the head of the ‘other religion’ can make all manner of ‘social justice’ remarks with assurance the God of the Universe is ignoring him.

The Vatican has a 40 foot wall around it and to date has not allowed any muzzies to infiltrate the sanctuary seeking refuge . Pope Frances is a dunce and a hypocrite who does not practice what he preaches .
