Will Hillary get charged, or what?
NY Post OPINION ^

Posted on 03/21/2016 12:05:20 AM PDT by bryan999

FBI chief James Comey and his investigators are increasingly certain presidential nominee Hillary Clinton violated laws in handling classified government information through her private e-mail server, career agents say.

Some expect him to push for charges, but he faces a formidable obstacle: the political types in the Obama White House who view a Clinton presidency as a third Obama term.

With that, agents have been spreading the word, largely through associates in the private sector, that their boss is getting stonewalled, despite uncovering compelling evidence Clinton broke the law.

The level to which the Clintons have created a "teflon" exterior for themselves is remarkable.
Most other people would be serving multiple life sentences for a handful of the crimes they jointly committed.

NY Post commentary usually cuts right to the chase.

The answer to the question posed in the headline is ....’what’.

The Clintons must have dirt on everyone... everyone is DC has been blackmailed it seems, and this keeps these despicable Clintons in power.

Seriously, has anyone in the media bothered to ask why are there no other Democrat candidates for President? There was no thinning of the herd on that side. It’s never been anything other than Ms. Rodham and Bernout Sanders, who is looking more and more like a tool of Obama, sent in to screw Ms. Rodham up.

Or it’s more like Hillary has the dirt on what Obama actually did (or did not do) on the night of Bengazi... and maybe some other things, too. I’d wager a guess that she’s not afraid to spill those beans if Obama made the wrong move.

These two corrupt dirtbags have basically put each other into check.

I find it highly improbable that Hillary Clinton committed no crimes in setting up her own server.

I find it highly likely that prosecutorial immunity was granted because real evidence of criminal activity was exchanged for the immunity.

I find it likely that the evidence of criminal activity adduced by the immunity will be directed not just at Hillary's subordinates but at Hillary herself.

I find it likely that the FBI will recommend prosecution of Hillary and her subordinates on the issue of misapplication of federal records and probably on self-dealing respecting the Clinton Foundation.

I have no opinion whether Loretta Lynch will act favorably on this recommendation. I have no opinion whether President Obama will direct Attorney General Lynch to move to indictment.

I think it is more likely than not that the either the director of the FBI or many subordinate officers will leak the contents of their recommendation and somewhat less likely that many will resign in protest if the administration fails to indict.

It is likely in the wake of such a scenario that the Republicans will call for a special prosecutor, which the president will resist, and a special prosecutor will not be appointed.

Even money that the Republicans will have to settle for an election issue rather than a prosecution.

The Clinton White House’s beleaguered director of personnel security, Craig Livingstone, announced his resignation yesterday, saying he took responsibility for the unjustified collection of FBI files on hundreds of Republicans. But he denied any malign intent.

“At no point do I believe I betrayed anyone’s confidence,” Livingstone said during a marathon session before the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee. He said he never disclosed any of the information in the confidential FBI reports “for any improper purpose whatsoever, and I have no reason to believe that anyone else in my office ever did so.”

The testimony of Livingstone and four others about how the White House personnel security office improperly collected hundreds of confidential FBI background files in 1993-1994 was an embarrassing occasion for the White House, which has endured three weeks of building criticism over the affair. Livingstone and his aide, Anthony B. Marceca, were portrayed as incompetent, inexperienced and wholly unsuited to their sensitive work. ...

...Rep. William F. Clinger Jr. (R-Pa.), the committee chairman, opened the hearing by asking why the president would allow “a political operative with a dubious background” and “a total lack of experience” to undertake such a sensitive job.

Smarting from such descriptions, Livingstone noted that he has been widely depicted in recent weeks as “a beefy former bar bouncer,” a “political operative” and “a `henchman’ who has supposedly engaged in all sorts of illegal conduct dating back 20 years.” Livingstone said that “these are false and unfair caricatures of who I am.” But even as he defended himself on this score, the committee released a deposition Livingstone gave last week, revealing his less-than-stellar background. He told committee staff that he used a variety of unspecified drugs until around 1985. Livingstone also said that he had been fired from a job at a Sears store in the early 1980s over the “improper exchange of an item which I had purchased” and that another job contract he once had was not renewed because his employer thought he had lied about whether he had attended a particular school. ...

I agree with most of your assessment.

The issue will be the severity of the charges. It is possible that the the charges will be so severe that the Obama administration will find it less damaging to charge PIAPS than to deal with the fall out of not charging her.

Since when does the FBI need presidential permission to charge someone? Or has the counter-order already been issued?
