The GOP changed the rules when Romney came up short in 2012. Sorry, John. Doesn’t matter anyway, Trump will get 1237.
That’s right, the RNC makes the rules and the RNC can change the rules. But they do so at their own peril because if they screw with Trump he may just drop the big one and run as a write-in or 3rd party and guarantee the end of the GOP as well as President Hillary. They will not risk a nuclear option that would put control of Congress in jeopardy because that’s what feeds their bank accounts.
How much you wanna bet on that?
“The GOP changed the rules when Romney came up short in 2012. Sorry, John. Doesnt matter anyway, Trump will get 1237.”
No they didn’t. Romney had a huge majority. They changed the rules so that Paul couldn’t even be nominated. But if he’d been nominated, he would have lost to Romney.
Romney did not come up short. He had over 1400 of the 2200 delegates.
I don't understand. Exactly how did Mitt Romney come up short in 2012?
I tried to research that claim and found this:
Campaign 2012: Mitt Romney captures delegates for GOP nod
So I'm just trying to understand what you mean, since I've seen it asserted a few times...
