Ben Carson said on Monday that even if Donald Trump turned out to be a lousy president, he’ll only be in office for four years.
"Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don't think is the case, I think he's going to surround himself with really good people, but even if he didn't, we're only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever," Carson told Newsmax's Steve Malzberg.
The former Republican presidential contender and retired pediatric neurosurgeon endorsed Trump last week. Carson did not elaborate when asked about a potential role in a Trump administration, other than to say that he would be "doing things" in an “advisory capacity.”
"We haven't hammered out all the details," Carson said when pressed on whether he had been promised a Cabinet post or something else. "I'm not going to reveal any details about it right now because all of this is still very liquid."

Trump’s worst possible four years would still leave Obama’s eight in the dust.

Sounds like Carson is not yet out of books to sell.
Sadly, he’s right. Even if Trump’s in for 8 years it will not be enough to turn back the long term move to big government corruption and national moral decline that has been in the works for decades. Maybe be can slow it down a little but I fear that’s the most we can hope for from any candidate.
The GOPe and Democrats can’t frighten me with Trump. Can he possibly do any worse than a Bush, a Clinton, or their ilk? I think not.
That’s hard to fit on a bumper sticker: “Vote Trump. Not quite a bad as Hillary, and can be ousted in four years.”
Ben should have bowed out gracefully without making a fool of himself.
Good to see Carson acknowledges that Cruz would be a disaster for America.
Carson is right. His comment is for the Cruz supporters who are #nevertrump. If hillary win, thats 2-4 judges taht will effect a generation. If Trump win, its only for 4 years if he was bad
Dr. Carson, we said that about Obama and look what happened. I’d try a different rebuttal.
I think Donald Trump loves America. It’s his one redeeming feature. I don’t believe that he is all that conservative, as he is a New Yorker who is well known for supporting liberal causes.
But he is not Hilary.
Why give such a stupid statement for the press to chew on.
Wow. What a relief.
A country that has been drunk on stupid for so long will take time to heal.
Keep the hammer away from Ben.
