Nabisco could easily keep the plant open...and running as usual. The problem is the plant is old, outmoded, inefficient, and Nabisco is NOT willing to spend the millions on a new facility in Chicago. I expect that construction costs are TWICE what they are in Mexico, and regulatory problems are even greater.
