We called em snowmobiles back in the late 60’s early 70’s, then it was as you stated Snowmachine

I called them Ski-Doos back in the mid 60's because that is similar to the very first one I ever saw in Canada. Trapper friend of my Dad bought one to run his trap lines. He dragged a car hood behind to bring back the carcasses. That is a 66 Ski-Doo. Sales didn't really take off in the states until 68 or 69.

Yep ... we were in the UP of michigan at kincheloe AFB in early 70’s an they were pretty much a basic form of transportation in winter.
