I have lived in Maine for 24+ years and I have never heard the term “snow machine.”

Everyone that I know, and everyone I see on TV here in The Pine Tree State calls them snowmobiles.

Not many of them were used in Maine this year....very little snow on the ground all winter; none in my area for nearly two months.

I think the word snowmachine & sno go came from Indian influence. They talk their own form of English. IF White Kids are raised in a village when young, the Indian accent & style of speaking imprints on them; they usually never lose it.
