My wife and I were watching and she asked, "I guess Australia doesn't have CCW?" Nope.
Here is the scene where a crazy guy on drugs (movie portrays most citizens as either in church, or drugged out of their minds as they wait for the fireball and tsunami to overtake them) in a few hours. Crazy guy surprises and kidnaps the protagonist and forces him to drive around attacking people. Great end of the world flick.
Video clip HERE. Warning: Graphic.
What really happens is that increased crime rates provide an incentive to get your CCW.
Spontaneous acts of defense, puts the fear of God into Criminals.
Not to mention, more people need to get shot, which will also cut down on violent crime.
Nothing like a little adrenaline dump in your coffee.
Note to hachiet-wielding thugs at 7-11 convenience stores: a CCW permit holder is the only one on the planet that can mete out instant capital punishment on the scene. There aren’t any judges to fix and there won’t be any legal plea bargain or other ways to get off on a technicality. What you get is the Big Dirt Nap [a small step towards cleaning up the gene pool].
The reporter goes out of their way to claim that there is evidence concealed carry both increases or decreases crime.
They simply are lying by equating the two.
There are very few “studies” that claim concealed carry increases crime, and they are not very credible. There is only one that I know of, and it cherry picks the data. There are a considerable number of peer reviewed studies showing a decrease in crime with increasing concealed carry permits, a fact the author ignores.
Similarly to claim that anecdotal evidence “abounds” that concealed carry increases crime, the author had to search quite hard to come up with two stories: one about an accidental discharge, the other about a woman who stopped aggressive shoplifters and was charged by the local authorities; no one was hurt. Quite a stretch.
Concealed Carry permit holders are far more law abiding than the average person, or even police officers.
Hard to believe the author did not discover that fact.
They should be fired for not reporting it.
He didn’t need a hatchet permit, he bought it at a hatchet show.
He was a refugee...has to be. I believe that town received a few thousand.
