My mother was so embarrassed by being on food stamps in 1967, she had me walk to the store about a mile from our house, and do the shopping, then ride in a cab back to the house. I was between the fourth or fifth grades at the time, so that would put me at 10 years old.

It cracks me up when someone says Trump is no Reagan. Well 2016 isn’t 1980 either. pft.

I remember those times. Many elders had no retirement plan because it wasn't offered or they were laid off before they were able to collect. Other working members of the family supported the elders.

It's called pride. Does it exist today? :-(.
