Trump took a chance when he defended the lawless actions of some of his supporters. The Dems are better able to raise mobs than he can. Do we want to get into a situation where every rally was red versus black?

Trump wasn’t taking a chance at all. Trump lives in the moment, he can grasp the gravity of a situation faster than any politician I have ever seen. No teleprompters was my first clue, but his decision making skills are a wonder to behold.
