Yes, Trump can start the fire on Mrs. Bill Wednesday morning and forget Ted, Marco, and Kasich.
Ted Cruz, the ugly girl in the bar at closing time.
GOPe broke out the beer goggles for Teddy. :-)
“Why is it so many folks still do not get it. Everyone but Trump is in the uniparty. EVERYONE! Hillary is fine with the uniparty. The R wing would prefer Jeb but if the D wing wins they are OK with Hillary.”
I’m not discounting the possibility that Cruz was an acceptable plan B candidate the GOPe wanted as insurance in case Jeb wasn’t well received. They had to know that he would have mass appeal among the hard core conservative crowd. He certainly can come across that way, although I doubt his sincerity.
After all, the survival of the uniparty is foremost, and given their supposed “reluctance” to give in and support him at this point just shows how much they didn’t figure on how Donald Trump was going to catch on.
Remember, prior to Trump announcing his candidacy, Jeb was all but being anointed, but Cruz was there as backup in case Jeb was proven an ineffective candidate.
I don’t care if people think I’m nuts, but it doesn’t make sense to me that they’d throw Jeb out there without having a plan B in mind. And Cruz is anything but an “outsider” as he and they want us to believe. He and his wife both have been involved with the Bushes their entire careers.
After all, if your “eggs” are the most important thing in the world to you, are you going to put them all in one basket? I wouldn’t.
They just didn’t see Trump coming.
What is National Review? Never heard of it.
“Why were so many so-called republicans eager to help Hillary Clinton win the White House? “
I do wonder what is the answer to this — other than that the GOP has been infiltrated at its highest ranks,
Yes and Kasich seems to be the one wit the biggest lead over Hillary
I wonder if Lowrys days are over
So National Review is for the destruction of the natural born clause. Duly noted....
Cruz was there to split the conservative vote leaving Jeb the so called moderate vote. Replay of Romney in 2012. But you are correct nobody forsaw a Trump. Now the plan is to use Cruz, Rubio and Kasick to get enough votes so that Trump can’t win on the first ballot and thus Jeb or Ryan or Romney gets the nomination in a contested convention. Cruz is the best vehicle the establishment has to pull off the stop Trump at any cost. Sadly the Cruz supporter can’t see they are being play for fools by the GOPe. Even team Bush joining team Cruz did not open their eyes.
Fox News LatinoSez it all right there.
How sad. They endorse someone, not because they are any good, but because they can defeat someone else.
Someone else in their own party. No mention of Cruz defeating Hillary or Bernie (they know he can't)
Carson didn’t ‘endorse” Trump - he came out and spoke for his new boss to be. He got bought off.
We know what Carson got bribed with.
What did Kristie - deer in the headlights - get promised?
Ironic how all the ones really pushing Cruz do so because "he's the only one who can beat trump" instead of, "He's the only conservative and the one who can beat Hillary".
In a topsy-turvy world, Trump seems to be the anchor that keeps things from really drifting off kilter - unless one happens to be a member of the RNC/GOPe/Democrat Party/Glenn Beck Fan Club/Islamic Terrorist States/Cruz or Lose Club (Losers Inc. who want to see Hillary in to "teach everyone a lesson")/etc.
