What he wants to do is unite the Party and go after his Hillary.
Looking bombastic has served its purpose and he wants to reassure moderates and Independents he’s not scary.

He also says that those who attack him are no longer around. Maybe Cruz and Rubio are so intimidated that they are scared to attack Trump for fear of what happens to those who do.
I’ve believed for months that Trump’s bombastic presentation was all part of his strategic plan, and at a certain point he would totally shift to a more somber demeanor. It will be interesting to follow as this process continues.
