Analysis: Clinton part of widespread use of non-secure email for sensitive information

**SNIP**

Kirby, the State Department spokesman, said the agency "takes the protection of sensitive information seriously and our staff are aware of the appropriate channels for transmitting classified information."

"We stand by the redactions we have made," he said.

Still, some diplomats who have reviewed their emails that have now been classified have expressed puzzlement.

Several said in interviews that they thought the State Department's review process relied on an overly broad interpretation of public-records laws that restrict release of certain information involving relations with foreign governments.

The list of perps seems to get longer every day.

Something else out there -

Clinton should be in The Hague, not the Oval Office: Analyst
"Right now she is running a campaign, a supposedly liberal campaign - even though it's not all that left, because she is trying to fend off an actual populist candidacy from Senator Sanders - nothing she says is the truth," the analyst added.

I say with confidence that the federal government does not handle IT well. IRS software, Obamacare websites, secure IT networks, email security -- all of this is done badly at a cost of many billions.

It's remarkable how incompetent they are. They don't know. They don't care. It's "whatever".

It is safe to assume that most people who had Clinton-s email address were seeking something. They know how the game is played and continue to play their roles. In many cases, if they sought and got special favors they are as guilty as she is. The important thing now is denial, denial, denial.

Around twelve years ago...I worked as a contractor for a DoD organization. They had two weeks left in the financial year and were trying to spend a lot of left-over cash on IT equipment.

One of the oddball things that they decided to buy were a dozen laptops which had a reputation of being indestructible. You could drop them into a bucket of water, and they’d still work. The pricetag was double what a normal laptop cost. Their intention was to load a certain software on the system. I should note...at no point had they purchased one and tested it with that software.

So four months after the purchase, the laptops arrive and I hand them to the IT tech support to load. They come back the next day...the system was using a structure that was four years old and incompatible with the software package that we had. It was a brand-new laptop, with ancient guts (in effect). I went to the planners...there was no way to use these for the original purpose. We couldn’t return them for our money. So we were stuck.

In the end, I think we general-purposed the laptops....and within two years, they were all quietly retired.

Over a decade long period working around the gov’t money guys and planners....I could probably write 400 pages on poorly planned purchases. I will admit....somewhere along the way....we did make some wise purchases and great enhancements. But it was not a great record to brag about.

There is the saying 'damning with faint praise' ...

This piece was 'praising with faint damnation.'

Now it’s gone from “I didn’t do it.” to “Everybody does it”. I guess it worked before.

Another question would be, did she even have any legitimate way of handling sensitive e-mail? It would be like the difference between rolling through a stop sign or driving without a license.

So the basic assumption of the highly-paid elites from prestigious places of higher learning is that information is not classified until some underling in a back office determines that it is classified? I had no idea the Monty Python “Twit Olympics” was a documentary. I thought it was a comedy skit.

So to lessen the severity and point to one person who is responsible lets muddy the waters by saying there are not just one person doing this but many so it must be a failed system that needs to be corrected and not a crime. I am just a part of a system that needs to be fixed!

” The “everybody does it” defense”

Yep, no charges from Lynch because of systemic failure to follow protocol, State is to big to fail. No harm no foul, wholesale retraining of all Gov. Employees.

The first piece seems more like a piece designed to provide cover to Hillary rather than make things worse for her.

The second piece is talking about a Democrat who hates Clinton and supports Sanders.

In the piece he is quoted saying:

Welch said Clinton "has the blood on her hands that these Republicans, who are, for the most part, outright racists and proto fascists, can’t even dream about."

What they quote him saying here is where you realize he supports Sanders:

"Right now she is running a campaign, a supposedly liberal campaign -- even though it's not all that left, because she is trying to fend off an actual populist candidacy from Senator Sanders – nothing she says is the truth," the analyst added.

I bet, if you asked Bill Clinton, he would tell you that every SoS back to Ben Franklin used unsecured email.

Precisely why Hillary will not go before a Grand Jury before the election. Take her down the whole shadow government gets exposed.

Yep. It’s “the system.” Can’t prosecute a system. Nameless, faceless, unaccountable. By design.

Nevermind that systems are created and implemented and gleefully exploited by individual people in a series of conscious choices.
