I understand Cruz has been working Kansas well over a year, is that true?

Yes, you're right about Nevada, although Nevada is a rather recent convert to Caucus-ism .

I used to vote in Nevada until 1993. Although I can't recall his GOP opponent's name, I remember voting against Harry Reid in the 1992 U.S. Senate race. Reid was very unpopular but that election garnered a low voter turn out ... less than 500,000.

I had met the slimebag Reid on more than three occasions. Once was a rather amusing encounter in his office ... lol. He had mistaken me for an employee and was trying to ask me some personal questions! Just like he comes across on TV, in real life, he really is rather dumb.

Cruz has a better ground game especially in caucus states. While I am a Trump supporter first I try to be realistic. Kansas is closer so Cruz may pull that one out. In Maine, Trump has the Governor, his organization, and an economic situation as a result of trade that favors him. I expect Trump to win Kentucky though .cruz to be closer than the polls. In Louisiana Trump should win handily. If Louisiana is close then some of Teump’s core supporters are moving.

I voted in Kansas. Stood in line and the group ahead of me and the group behind me were all voting Cruz. So did I. I saw one lady who had not decided other than she said, “Not Trump.”

That is the oddest voting setup. It sounds ripe for dirty tricks.

Here in Massachusetts we still use pen and paper. Not that there can’t be fraud in that either.

I don’t know where you get the last poll closing at 8:00 in Kansas unless you mean the Dem caucus. They are voting later. GOP is 10 to 2.

Cruz does do well in caucus states. I think it's because many of them are heavily rural. I've lived in a place like that. Churches are the main social organization for people who live there, and those churches really encourage their people to vote.

Many people who live in those outlying areas are heavily invested in their churches and in their schools. Of all the states that are up tonight, I'd guess that Cruz is most likely to win Kansas.

I saw Rick Santorum at my caucus location. I’m sure he was the Rubio rep, but the whole thing was poorly organized. There was a stage and a mic, but no chairs. Voters just passed through and cast their votes. So Santorum was just standing there with a big smile, doing nothing.

The delegate allocation rules in tonight's states make it very difficult for any candidate to break out with delegates unless the win is a real blowout. I think one of them only has a 5% floor, so no one is really going to be completely shut out.

So, if any single candidate can get anywhere close to 50% of delegates it would be a huge night.

I think tonight is more about perception than anything. Are the establishment attacks working? Or is Trump inevitable?

Wow! Cruz supporters and Trump supporters on the same thread, peacefully coexisting! I wish it could be like this on all the threads.

Where it’s close, it will be with Cruz.

Lying Ted has two streams of votes.

1. People who really like him

2. Establishment who know that Cruz is their only shot at stopping Trump.

#2 voters are armed with Cruz talking points in the caucuses that are focus-group tested. Cruz is consumed with ambition and has cozied up to establishment. He’s teamed up with Rubio to stop Trump and refused to disavow Romney’s remarks saying he understands Romney’s fears of Trump.

Not as far as I could tell. I’ve heard nothing from Cruz, and I’m usually a targeted voter because I always vote. Cruz was in Overland Park earlier this week. Trump is in Wichita today.
