Paid campaign staff are beholden to no one but themselves. I am amazed how they can diss a candidate, then get behind that same candidate when offered a lucrative job opportunity.
Well not all campaign staff. I was referring to the fundraiser-class, for the most part.
A large chunk of campaign staff are "true-believers" who still believe in their candidate and his/her causes, long after the campaign ends. You sacrifice a huge chunk of your life when you work on a major campaign and the motivation for that sacrifice is either A) lots of money and B) personal dedication and strongly held beliefs. In Republican circles the only ones making a lot of money on campaigns are usually the financiers.
