Mexico says won't pay for Trump's 'terrible' border wall

There is no way Mexico would fund Donald Trump's "terrible" plan to build a wall along its border with the United States if the Republican front-runner wins the U.S. presidential election, the Mexican finance minister said.

Trump, the New York billionaire developer and former reality television star, sparked outrage in Mexico when he vowed to force Latin America's second largest economy to pay for a wall along the southern U.S. border to stem the flow of illegal immigration and drugs.

In a televised interview late on Wednesday, Finance Minister Luis Videgaray categorically rejected the proposal.

"Under no circumstance will Mexico pay for the wall that Mr. Trump is proposing," he said. "Building a wall between Mexico and the United States is a terrible idea. It is an idea based on ignorance and has no foundation in the reality of North American integration."

Hell, since those transfers are almost all cash, make them show a green card before hitting the send button.

Green card holders pay the 35%.

No proof, seize the money under provisions of RICO Act, suspicion of illegal activity, and Patriot Act, illegal alien invader. Call the police.

Allow 20% bounty for clerk from contraband funds.

win, win, win... so much winning we’ll get tired of it....Naawww

Add a “border security tax” to any wire transfer made by any person who cannot prove citizenship. Wall paid for.

Even if Trump could get enough of the GOP to go along, what makes you think the Dems in the Senate would cooperate?

I think we’d still come out ahead if we paid for it ourselves. Just one state (California) pays out billions for illegals every year.

Funny how nobody asks how we’re going to pay for illegals’ education, incarceration, welfare, hospitalization, food stamps, and on and on. But when it comes to building a wall, all of a sudden there are shrieks of “We can’t afford it!” Way I see it, we can’t afford NOT to build it.

“...the middle of the Rio Grande river is the border in most locations.”

______________________________________________________

I hadn’t thought of that!

Build the wall on the Mexican side; the Rio Grande is then 100% in Texas.

Or build hundreds of high-speed cigarette boats and have them patrol the Rio Grande 24/7.

Wonder what Goldmans Sachs has been telling him. That was a huge slip.

Why is a barrier between countries any different than a barrier around the White House, or a locked door/wall/fence around your own home? And- all we have to do to make Mexico/illegal aliens pay for that wall is to put FEES on every electronic transmission of money to those countries. Every package of goods out of the US to those countries. That way every dollar they send ‘home’ will cost them a ‘wall fee’. They come here to suck the US dry and finance their hellholes. Enough guts to walk into the US but not enough to stay home and FIX their own pestholes? Tough, enough goes to these places in foreign aid. Remove the incentive to come here illegally!I would require legal identification of citizenship before ANY goods or $$ is sent south of the border. Sick of it all; and ARMED and guarded wall is what we need!

I don’t think Mexico understands how Trump plans on paying for the wall. They send 50 billion to Mexico every year. . Tax it.

I often travel up to a town on the Vermont/Quebec border called Derby Line. One small section of the border, near the library,is marked by *flower pots* (I kid you not). The lesson here is that Canadians and Americans respect the border and don't cross illegally...in either direction.

OTOH,30 million illiterate welfare parasites from Mexico live here and *demand* to be made citizens. But rumor has it that Mexico goes to *great* lengths to prevent people illegally crossing her *southern* border.

You know....I think I’d even be ok paying for it ourselves. (I guess around here that makes me at least a moderate...maybe a liberal! LOL!).

Well, there is the 14 billion we give Mexico for just being there. That can pay for the wall. But, it would be better to tax the produce and products that come across the border.

Remittance payments are Mexico's #1 source of revenue, +$20 BILLION/year

Remittance payments trump the #2 GNP gas and oil.
