I get that and understand it. What I don’t get is people that think Trump will be a conservative president.
No one believes Trump will be a Conservative President.
NO ONE.
What you're missing is that people are so fed up with Washington DC and thirty plus years of GOP/GOP-E empty promises that they're ready to blow up the party because of it.
Trump is just the mechanism to do it. Nothing more.
“What I dont get is people that think Trump will be a conservative president.”
I disagree. I think most Trumpateers just don’t care and that’s worrisome.
They are so angry with the party they’re more concerned with pi$$ing off the man than they are with putting the best man/women in the White House.
It’s a decision driven by raw emotion and emotional decisions most generally turn out to be poor ones.
Correct. Conservative, not really. Populist, yes. I think we’re so far off the rails, we need something like this to get stabilized (e.g. Wall, Border, Trade, Jobs), then we can have the luxury of going back to a typical conservative/liberal debate.
Think of Britain and WWII. Churchill had many flaws, but he was the right man for the time. After victory, Churchill was removed as PM pretty fast.
I think we need a bull in the china shop to really shake up DC for a few years and break the back of the Establishment.
