Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump
The New York Times ^ | February 25, 2016 | Staff

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a major boost as he heads into the pivotal Super Tuesday contests.

Mr. Christie was a candidate himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshire’s primary. But his backing of Mr. Trump comes after weeks of him saying that it was time for the “entertainment” portion of the race to end, and as he had said that the type of executive leadership that a governor has is important.

It’s the logical thing. The handwriting is on the wall. Trump will win the nomination.

Christie as Veep?

Strengths: he brings the GOP-E, he brings New Jersey, he’s a good debater, a good hatchet man, and he has a strong America understanding.

Weaknesses: He’s not telegenic, he signed the law preventing parents from counseling children being influenced in a homosexual direction, he’s got that bridge problem, he hugged Obama, and he’s a liberal republican.

The racial makeup of Chappaqua in 2000 was 91.80% White, 0.94% African American, 0.03% Native American, 5.62% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.52% from other races, and 1.07% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.55% of the population.

“You left out Jimmy Carter........real Conservatives know what that endorsement means, but maybe since Trump is a “pragmatist” it’s acceptable to his supporters.”

I don’t know if he’s a “pragmatist”, that’s a loaded term. But I believe he IS a Nationalist, and hence the wide variety, and your confusion, regarding his supporters.

Forget his wealth. Focus on succeeding in the brutal NY construction business. It is rife with democrat political control, unions, competition from tons of other builders, etc.

Then consider his success in developing high end hotels and golf resorts and high rise buildings the world over. You and I could not accomplish that feat in a million years.

Yes, I admit Trump is 10,000 smarter in real world main street economy than me.

I am predicting Newt as our new VP!!

Choosing a VP candidate from Washington, DC? LMAO! So which version of ObamaCare expansion do you think we'd end up with? NootCare or TrumpCare? At least Noot is on record saying that 300 pages of Obamacare is "pretty good". All Trump knows to say is "lines around the states" over and over again.

This is priceless! I’m sure the Trumpanzees will suddenly discover that Christie is a principled conservative who they’ve always loved.

“Oceania has ALWAYS been at war with Eastasia.....”

There’s one thing I’m really looking forward to in a perverse way. For my entire adult life I’ve been quite disappointed on election night when the GOP candidate loses.

If Trust Fund Donnie gets the nod, I’ll be popping champagne and laughing like a little kid when he loses in November.

Yeah we know - only Trump cares about the country.

Did you know he was born on Flag Day so hence he loves the flag? This is what passes for reasoning amongst Trump supporters.

You want to focus on the wall, your choice for sure.

After he builds that and then expands Medicare Part D, advocates for Universal health care and appoints a SC judge that supports Affirmative Action would that be “winning”?

The one thing I liked about Christie was his realism on entitlements.

Too bad he sold that out to support DT, who will kick the entitlement can down the road every bit as far as Bernie Sanders will.

“This is a Republican Primary, and most of us understand that a person’s character is shaped by their biblical faith and practice of the moral principles religion teaches. Reagan often quoted the scriptures directly AS a statesman.”

Let me be very clear on this matter. I did not say anything like what you imply. Yes, Ronald Reagan quoted the Scriptures frequently, but did he preach? I think not. He was a Christian statesman, which is exactly what I said Cruz should be, and for that matter Trump and Rubio, if they are serious Christians. Every Christian should speak as a Christian, which will from time to time include quoting the Bible. But they should do so only in proportion to their right understanding and appropriate to their calling (vocation). To do otherwise is to deny what the Scriptures themselves clearly teach and thus to give those who would like to discredit Christianity and Christians plenty of ammunition.

Cruz is running to be president of the United States, not preacher of the United States. There is a difference. More specifically, there is a difference between the divinely intended and instituted estates of government (civil) and church (ecclesiastical), a distinction the authors of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution were well aware of and which caused them to choose their words accordingly. I would trust very, very few preachers to be president; and I would trust very, very few would-be presidents to be preachers. Ted is a very good lawyer, but not a very good theologian; Christian, yes, Christian theologian, not so much.

One of the great problems in our country is that many people no longer use their own language accurately, whether reading or speaking, and no longer are as well read as they used to be in the basics of history, philosophy, and theology. This hurts our ability both to “talk politics” and to “talk Bible.” It is a direct result of the continuing failure of education in our nation.

His abortion stance. No go on SCOTUS. AG, that would not be bad at all. VP. no. Again, abortion stance, and I doubt his health will hold up long enough to be a viable second 8. Trump needs a younger more vital VP. Don’t know about the guy in the house that endorsed him, but worth investigating.

Trump is an open book. He said he wants someone that can help pass legislation. That is what he said, and thus that is what he means, and that is what he will do. It is almost like the “I am going to win with the Hispanics” statement.

“Yeah we know - only Trump cares about the country. Did you know he was born on Flag Day so hence he loves the flag? “

Incoherent hyperbole.

“This is what passes for reasoning amongst Trump supporters.”

And this is what constitutes strawman fallacies from Trump detractors pretending to know how to reason.

“You want to focus on the wall, your choice for sure.”

You want to focus on DNC talking points, your choice.

“After he builds that and then expands Medicare Part D, advocates for Universal health care and appoints a SC judge that supports Affirmative Action would that be “winning”?”

Yes. Because expansion of Medicare Part D, Universal Health Care and more liberal SC judges are probably coming anyway, Get used to it.

But with Trump, there’ll be a Wall. Hopefully.

One thing is for sure:

No Trump, no wall.
