I strongly disagree with LaVoy Finicum’s chosen method of protest because armed takeover of an area is confrontational and IMHO not the most effective way of resolving a dispute.

However, based on what I saw on the video, the shooting of Mr Finicum was totally unjustified and amounts to state sanctioned murder of an innocent and upstanding American.

Considering that Ferguson rioters who burned down much of the business district of a good sized American city and shot at police officers were praised and actively supported by the President and invited to the White House, the treatment of Mr Finicum seems a bit disproportionate

When Finicum got out of his vehicle with his hands up, within seconds you gathered around him and shot him in the back.

He didn't do the standard hands-up surrender. He was moving, turning, and reaching into his coat pocket. I don't know about the other allegations in the article, but if this is the level of honesty, I'd consider them all suspect.

I have friends who are in law enforcement and most maintain that they will not follow orders to disarm law abiding citizens nor will they take up arms against the citizens of the US if ordered to do so. I presume that leo’s across this country have the same sentiment but I am not at all convinced that they would stand true to their oaths or their personal convictions when American citizens decide to stand against this tyrannical government as have these good ranchers. Demonstrably this current crop of federal and local leo's nation wide clearly will not hesitate to kill its own citizens with impunity when ordered to do so. "I was just following orders" did not work at Nuremberg and that excuse is still unacceptable when an American leo murders his fellow citizens. For those that do as well as those who issued the orders should be dealt with accordingly.
