I'm a big believer in Occam's Razor. I've witnessed the postings of the Trump people here and elsewhere. The infinite capacity for self-delusion, for example, in convincing themselves that Trump is anything but a corporate statist. The laughable clinging to the notion that Trump is a "self-made man." The delusional assertion of birther theories. The complete inability to find ANYTHING their "Leader" has ever done wrong: any inconsistency, any misstep - everything is explained away.

You don't have to try to have a serious policy discussion for very long with a Trump person to come away with the clear impression that they aren't motivated by any sort of philosophy of government. They think that's all egghead stuff. Locke? Hayek? Jefferson? That's all for the dreaded "GLOBALISTS" to chew on. Why bother with esoteric notions like federalism and limited government WHEN THE MEXICANS ARE TAKING OUR JOBS?!

So back to Occam's razor. How to explain it?

They're dumb. Trump supporters - for the most part - just aren't that bright. A guy yells at people, sounds tough, cusses, and it appeals to them. HE's the guy who can bring back their screw-rurning jobs! Think I'm overstating it? Look at this nugget from Trumpanzee Mickey Klaus in a piece called "The Rubio Menace." In his closing argument against Rubio, he says this:

"In short, for the Sessions movment - and a particular vision of America, in which even unskilled, non-bright citizens can work a full day and earn a respectable living - Marco Rubio is a state-of-the art K-Street kill shot..."

If you're like most conservatives you've spent not one nanosecond of your life worrying about how respectable a living an "unskilled, not-bright" person might earn. But the "unskilled, not-bright" are precisely who Trumpism appeals to.

"Make America Great Again!"

How? Well...we'll take it all from the "elites!" We'll make them give the losers their fair share. Sound familiar? Sure it does. It's the siren song of every leftist demagogue from Marx to Mao, from Castro to Obama. It sells.

Especially to the intellectually limited.

When has a U.S. politician ever really done something to help America as in reducing government size, reducing the illegals invasion, or stopping unfair trade deals that unfairly favor China over the USA? UH NEVER!

All we get from Cruz , abott etc is speeches , never any real action as in building a wall to stop the illegals invasion or eliminating a government program .

And you still believe these speeches. and you call us delusional and say we don't have intelligence? You are the ones who are fooled and conned by Con men who are owned by rich Internationalist Donors

Trump says he will build a wall and you say we are idiots for believing him . so i guess you want us to believe do nothing con men like Cruz and other politicians who have done nothing except give speeches. The difference is Trump is not owned and hasn't been a politician. your cruz had his chance . instead of representing Texas and stopping the illegals invasion he has been campaigning since day 1 he got elected for another job.
