Doesn't matter who the candidate is. The Democrat candidate was always going to lose.

Hillary is simply going to lose harder than anyone.

But "scorched earth" has been a lingering thought in my mind, too. Sometimes I wonder if the Democrats are going to take that literally. Doing anything to not let the Republicans win.

The Republican candidate must be prepared to endure the most vicious attacks possible. That is Clinton's only chance.

You shouldn't wrestle with pigs, you both get dirty but the pig likes it. I think scorched earth would work on any of the GOPers, and will have an effect on Cruz. Trump, I believe, will hit back dirtier and meaner than anything the rats come up with. While I do have ideological concerns with Trump he has been doing something many FReepers have long wished for; he eschewed the niceties that typify a republican campaign and opted to be a street fighter.

They just have to play the Milt Romney card if it’s Trump, and Trump’s own history will pump it up to steroid level. The screwing of the little guy with bankrupting corporations, war on women and race card are ready-made to take Trump out given all his public history and statements.

Cruz would be unstoppable because he would be the first time we’d be running a true conservative who knows how to make all the right arguments for small government like Reagan and Gingrich did.

Now sometimes it is a bit unseemly, which is why you won't see her totally destroy Sanders (a kindly old man) - plus they need the Sanders voters to turn out in November. But a Republican? Sheesh, I'd be shocked to my core if HRC DIDN'T try to destroy the Pubbie nominee's reputation.
