POLITICS: Liberal women seen as weak on terrorism issues, study finds

A new study from UC Riverside suggests that Hillary Clinton may have two big obstacles working against her going into the 2016 election: she's a woman and she's a liberal.

Those two traits combined make voters think twice about supporting her when terrorism is in the news, according to a news release from UCR about the study.

The study cites researchers from UCR, Tulane University and Vanderbilt University who have learned female democratic presidential hopefuls are viewed by voters as weaker and less capable than their male and republican counterparts when dealing with terrorists, the release says.

The study suggests that men are traditionally viewed by voters as stronger leaders than women and conservatives are thought of as more capable in terms of leadership, national security and foreign policy than liberals.

"When terrorism is in the headlines, these voter perceptions hurt women candidates in the Democratic Party but not the male candidates whose gender counteracts the party's weak reputation on national security," the release says.

The GOP, on the other hand, has a "reputation of being tough on terrorism" that "appears to inoculate its female office-seekers from the weak-on-national-security stereotype ascribed to democratic women," the release says.

Therefore, Carly Fiorina would have been insulated from the perception of weakness during her presidential bid because her womanliness is counteracted by the fact that she's a conservative.

I see.

Change subject, throw in an ad hom and run when asked politely, but directly, if you work for Russia.

Liberal women are weak on most things that command a little knowledge of the real world.

Glad I didn’t marry one. It would have made “The War of the Roses” seem like two little kiddies in a fight.

And my wife can speak clear, logical sentences without saying “hm, uh, what or Hillary”.
