That's how they referred to THEMSELVES in the poll break down.

So in between the Evangelical group, there was a subgroup of Evangelicals that stated: "We are the true Christians, the Elect of God predestinated before the world began, whose names are listed in the book of life as proven by who we are voting for?" You are full of s***.

It’s kind of sad how many missteps the Cruz campaign made and how they didn’t sell the genius and the goodness of the man. He and his managers made some wrong decisions. However, this was a brand new thing for him, running for President. Wiser and more mature, he is poised for a good run in 8 years.

He should have stuck with his pact to not go against Trump.
He should have dealt with courts and congress re his NBC status.
He should have brought up his religion a little less.
He should have played a very clean campaign, only responding to arrows with solid defense.
He should have dropped his holier-than-thou speech cadence. If we don’t like Obama’s phoniness, why would we want Cruz’s? Just talk, man. No raising the eyebrows in pity and talking about how wonderful your parents were and how holy you are. It’s not humble, it’s a pathetic ploy. Didn’t work for Rubio or Bush either.

I liked him VERY much when this campaign began. I don’t like him much now, though I would vote for him if he were the nominee, which he won’t be.

It almost seems to me Cruz hired people who were set on destroying him and were in fact his enemies. Sure seems that way or are they just wholly incompetent?

Either way, it makes him unelectable. A president is all about his team. You need to, first and foremost, select a good team. Then you need to manage the hell out of that team, and when you are done with that, manage the hell out of them more.

Cruz has not done any of that. He's not in charge. In the Trump organization, it is very, very obvious that Trump can select the best in the business, whatever that business may be, and they are very, very well managed. We really need someone who can manage the hell out of the USA.

Not piling on, as I know this isn't a good story for Cruzers today...

But a few of us Trump voters have been saying for a good while that Cruz's campaign staff would be his undoing.

It's been a terribly run campaign. Those people should be sued for malpractice.

Many Dems vote Republican when they support the ideas of that candidate. It isn’t just “they like them”. The coastal areas of NC were big Jessecrat areas. Those Dems never changed party but never failed to vote for Jesse Helms because he loved America, NC and was unabashed in saying so.

“Born agains - those who actually practice their faith, all went for Cruz. Those who said they were Christians but don’t practice it went for Trump. (It’s a “Number 2 Corinthians” thing.) “

Broad, rash generalizations should be avoided. I was born again when I was eight, attended Baptist seminary, and I “practice my faith”. I voted for Trump.

Clinton was impeached...finished term.

Plus big question is will Texas allow for Cruz to retain Senate seat or will he be primaried?

The numbers were broken down. Of the dem crossovers, 33% went to Trump, 30% split between rubio and Cruz and the rest spread out over the others.

So Trump got double the Democrat vote of Cruz or Rubio. What percentage of the overall vote was that?

How many Democrats and independents voted in the election?

When you hear Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! it is a reference to old game shows where a contestant has scored a correct answer.

Oh. That.

Don't feel like I won much though.

(Thanks?)

Once Cruz exits when either his money or self delusion runs out, his voters mainly will go to Trump, despite the crybabies here.

I pray you are correct.

Their arrogance and snobbery is what hurts Cruz as much as all of the YES men he employed.

3rd place is a real bad place to be with a mean and holier than thou attitude. People may tolerate that in a winner but any sign of weakness and it’s adios. Cruzies don’t seem to get that.

Amen to what you said. And anyone with the word, “Senator”, in front of his name is part of the problem.

Trump is going to highlight Marco’s cheap labor express big time now that he’s announced America will turn into “responsible” patsies after Marco secures the border with jumpy castles.

Cruz got fewer. Translation, he would never have had a chance in the general.

Not a good translation. As the guy said:

"I don't have to outrun the bear. I only have to outrun you."

In a contest between any Republican and Hillary, Hillary is toast.

Having open primaries are one of the most idiotic things the GOP does....among a plethora of other idiotic, stupid things the GOP does.

Yup.
